East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Samantha Cassidy

Samantha kept her position in her chair, watching as the man in front of her ate the pancakes, contemplating the words he spoke about the Dark Hunters. The Were's tone implied the danger that the words he spoke meant to her, but his emotions flickered with the indifference that she'd come to expect from him. Still, the girl remained silent as she considered the reality of the situation. There were hunters out there who would kill her for being fae, just as there had been faeries who had killed her for being human. It seemed as though she could win on neither spectrum. It did explain the iron tipped arrows and how it'd seemed to know exactly how to harm her. "Well, you'll have to teach me how to recognize them," Samantha said simply, reaching across the table to pick up her mug of tea. She cupped both of her hands around the mug, warming them as she regarded the boy. "Unless, of course, you'd like to be my personal body guard." She was teasing, of course, hardly expecting anything out of the man.

Samantha kept her gaze on the boy cool as she listened to him fumble with the idea of conversation. She hadn't meant her words to be insulting, yet the man seemed bothered by them. "I have the opposite problem, I suppose," Samantha said gently. "I talk entirely too much. And about a million things that absolutely are not important. Feel free to tell me to shut up. Unless you like my babbling, of course," Her lips formed the tiniest of smiles as she lived the mug to her lips, taking a long drink of the warm liquid. She only brought her gaze up again when his comment was directed towards the food she provided. "Thank you. The trick is to use cake batter to make the pancakes. It tastes more like dessert, but it's delicious," She replied, freeing one hand from her mug to move her untouched plate of pancakes towards him. "Have more? Honestly, I'm not hungry and they shouldn't go to waste."

She hadn't expected her admittance about the nightmarish images that he'd provided last night to affect him. After all, she'd grown used to the calm aura that the man provided her, and the guilt that instantly overcame the two of them made her own mood plummet. She so easily felt the emotions that went through his mind. The guilt, the anguish, the sorrow. She shook her head, putting down the cup and reaching forward to put a hand on his arm, bringing her own gaze up to meet his emerald one. "You don't have to feel like that," She said softly. Perhaps it was the fact that the panther so rarely felt anything other than calm to her, but the tug of his sorrow felt stronger than normal. Or perhaps he just felt the emotion stronger than she was used to. "You helped me. You saved my life. I highly doubt that the next iron arrow would have missed my heart, and you're the reason that didn't happen, Aiden. And I know you weren't intending for me to see anything that scared me." Her fingertips rubbed small circles on his skin as though to calm him. "There's no reason to feel sad or guilty, I promise." She gave the man a smile, forcing her body to relax and help him realize that she wasn't upset. "Besides. Really. All I saw was Bozo the Clown anyways. Leftover nightmares from a disastrous fifth birthday party," It was a lie, of course, but she refused to plague him with any more guilt over the situation than she already had by exposing what she'd really seen.
