East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

East
long live the pioneers
rebels and mutineers

No doubt it was an odd thing for the owner of the shop to round the corner and see a strange figure sitting at her bar. Luckily enough for Carolina the woman seemed friendly enough, a slight if somewhat unsure smile on her face as she approached. Still she had come here for a reason and she watched surprise and intrigue light up the other woman's face as she finished her introduction with her hand extended. She didn't reply right away which made her own smile falter slightly as she turned toward a small playpen that was set up on the side of the room. The little girl caught her eye before she was set down, a child's smile plastered on her little face causing Carolina to crinkle her nose in return. She had never wanted children of her own, but she wasn't immune to their adorable antics.

Her hazel eyes refocused on the dark haired woman as she returned seeming more focused on the task at hand no doubt having collected her thoughts by now. This time she shook her offered hand quickly with an air of practice followed by her own introduction. Things were looking more promising now and a smile lit up her own features at her luck of catching her as she said. She hadn't quite meant to put the woman on the spot like this, and she didn't exactly expect an answer right away, but as Nadya's slender fingers thrummed solidly on the wood she felt sure a swift refusal was coming. Slightly nervous she shifted her weight, one hip cocking to the side as her blue-green eyes studied Nadya with practiced patience. It wasn't the end of her world if she didn't get this job, but it would undoubtedly make life a bit easier.

Thankfully Nadya didn't leave her waiting in anticipation for too long, a decisive look coming to her eyes as she seemed to have reached a decision. She straightened suddenly as she spoke, eyes lighting up as her fears seemed to be unfounded and she was getting an offer after all! She smiled brightly as when Nadya finished, nodding eagerly at the proposition. "I've worked in a few bars before and I'm well aware of customer's habits, but I come fully equipped to deal with it," she finished with a slight laugh and a wink in good nature. "I can promise you I won't be drinking on the job," she said with a touch more seriousness in her tone, knowing that it wasn't likely to be a laughing matter for the business owner. "I can start whenever you like, whatever hours it won't be a problem." Bartending hadn't been her first choice, but tips were always reliable especially from lonely men who she would have no problem playing up to for it.

While it hadn't been her intention to find a job when she set off into the city this morning, she was none the less pleased to have found this place and the woman running it. Who knew, perhaps they had more in common than species and apparent taste in clothes, she wouldn't mind having a friend that wasn't her cat for a change. With her being the crazy cat lady was just a bit too on the nose.
