East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

the stars in their orbits

and the stars in their orbits shone pale through the lightof the brighter, colder moon

Tobias was an odd one indeed. Her gaze flickered over to his previous position that he indicated then to his current spot. She would have to be more careful with her words, obviously he was a very literal person. The poor man's internal battle about being close yet keeping that wild animal distance was evident as the emotions danced briefly over his features. Every animal had a "push zone" that if you entered it would act like opposite magnets and push the creature the other direction, the further in you got, the faster it would retreat. Tobias was dancing along that line, figuring out how to cross it and if he even could. Nadya waited patiently, apple still in hand, letting him get there on his own. Her confusion came when he told her to throw it. Throw it...to him? Her stillness must have broken his hesitation at coming near her because he strode forward, took the apple from her...and threw it. Her further confusion came when he retrieved it, like a dog. Nadya tilted her head to the side and blinked in disbelief as the apple was returned to her hand. However, she couldn't help the giggle that escaped due to his unusual behavior. At least he was closer, that was a start.

"It's not a ball. It's an apple, see?"

Nadya took the hem of her dress and rubbed the apple to clean it off then lifted it to her lips. She kept her gaze on Tobias as she took a bite from the fruit then offered it to him again. It seemed he had just as many questions as she did. Nadya shrugged softly, her gaze averting momentarily to her feet. She couldn't answer his question about her biological parents. She only knew what she had been told. Surely he would have known more than her about that night, at least she had hoped he would.

"..Mom...and dad... I was told they died. Tobias, I don't really know what happened. I was raised by the eastern pack, they took me in. I only learned about my biological parents a couple years ago. After my birthday I decided to travel and I just got here last night and stayed in a building down there."

Nadya indicated with her free hand to the other end of the crowded farmer's market. She guessed she was pressing her luck expecting Tobias to take the fruit from her again so set the morsel down next to her. Though...maybe he just wasn't used to fruit. While he stood before her in human form his behavior was more animal, perhaps his tastes were swayed in that direction to. An idea popped into her head as Nadya sprang up, extending her arms with her palms out flat towards Tobias.

"Wait right here, don't move."

She wasn't sure about leaving him, afraid that if she let him out of her site that he would disappear and the connection to her past would be too. Nadya quickly dug her last $10 from her backpack and slipped into the crowd. She left her things also hoping those would still be there too. Tobias may have been a food thief but she didn't expect him to really be a material thief too. He would have no use for the girls clothes in there anyhow. She was gone only for a moment and when she returned had a plate with a large roasted turkey leg on it. The smell made her stomach grumble slightly in renewed hunger. Her delicate fingers pried off a small piece and stuck it in her mouth before she stepped closer to Tobias, a mere two feet in front of him before presenting the rest to Tobias. An innocent smile graced her features as she looked up at him.

"You might like this better. You don't know where he is, do you? My brother."
