East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits | Frost |

Frost's stubbornness could match Tobias', both assured that they held very little if no fault in the world of troubles around them. They were all far more alike than they would care to admit in the end. Nadya didn't speak any more about Micah's injury or the details surrounding it. With Frost having healed it there was no reason to drag such painful memories back to the surface. Nadya moved with purpose to resume the previous plan of getting the children ready in order to go out for their birthday. Her attention was only barely held by Frost's interaction with the young Izzy; or at least his attempt at one. A smirk touched the corner of her lips before she gathered her daughter in the stroller with Micah and set off without another glance at Frost.

Nadya's assumption that Frost would follow was correct. He had of course been the one to show up at her door step after all. As they walked down the street in a more picturesque family way than Nadya would have cared for, a slight irritation ruffled her feathers at Frost's critique of the cake. "Yes, bunnies. Is there a problem with bunnies...equine?" At least they were cute fluffy animals. There wasn't exactly a child's cake for predator Weres and Nadya was sure Frost would have had a comment at the ready for a predator on the twin's cake too. With a soft huff Nadya pulled open the door to the café and waltzed in to the welcoming aroma of fresh coffee and pastries. Her gaze immediately scanned the counters where the baristas worked in search for the familiar face of Alexis though found her absent.

"I'll take a cup of their Sumatra Black Satin." And, yes, that was her way of requesting a drink from Frost. He had insisted on taking them out right, so why not have him paying? Nadya pushed the double stroller alongside a table in the back corner of the café. She left Izzy seated in the front portion of the stroller while pulling Micah from the back seat and plopping him on her lap once seated. Nadya had of course heard Frost question her about her future plans and his declaration of his offer. The offer had always been tempting from the very beginning; the turmoil between herself and the pack making life outside look very enticing indeed. It had been her brother that kept her in Nightshade and then her want for her children to be with their family...to know their Uncle. Though it seemed that it would never happen, that family life that she so wished to have, a foolish dream that was dashed the moment they had been separated as children.

Nadya handed Izzy the stuffed horse toy from beneath the stroller to play with that Frost had given some time ago. It had proved to be a favorite for her daughter and as such was always stashed in the stroller for outings. She saw to it that Izzy was sufficiently occupied before looking over at Frost at long last once he too had seated. "I was young, barely past my 5th birthday, when the vampires came through my hometown. They took my brother and killed my parents. I alone was rescued that night by our neighboring pack and raised by the Alpha there treated like their own daughter." Her tone was soft, dark, and reminiscing as she let those memories come back to the forefront of her mind. "It's hard to believe that it was just a coincidence that I found him again. I have to believe it was fate; a second chance to be with my family." The young woman shifted in her seat; their group perhaps an odd sight in their fine clothes in a simple café but she didn't seem to care. The stares of others being a young mother had made her immune to curious looks now.

"Don't you have a family?" The question was innocent enough and she hardly knew anything about him despite his persistent attempts to have her join his pack. "You don't seem unfamiliar with kids like most guys." Even through Frost's wary looks at the twins she could see in the way that he held them that he had done so in the past.
