East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The shock he has caused the fae woman seems to go unnoticed, the shaggy-haired young man content to examine his prize, the majority of the bar seeming to have gone back to their evenings. After all, he is well known within these parts and is thusly ignored by those either unconcerned or unwilling to dare confront the often volatile leopard. Those who do not know him seeming to have taken cues from those around them and merely left the boy to the task he has set himself beneath the unfortunate girls table. She moves, shifts, coming to deal down beside him and for a moment those impossibly dark eyes flicker towards her to meet her own gaze. She speaks and he listens, pausing in his actions to do so, his idol muttering halted and yet whether he understands her words remains to be seen, the young man simply frowning, frustration seeming to mar his youthful features a moment before his gaze cuts suddenly to her again with narrowed eyes. He does not...understand what she is saying, his mind incapable of such a mental reach as to identify self within a question not truly a question- but a statement of his own existence. Indeed, in this area, Tobias is rendered dangerously inept. Sarcasm, colloquialism, sentences that require an understanding of a higher plane of existence much less any realisation of self are, sadly, outside of his reach for the most part, his mind unable to fixate on such things, the line between animal and man a dangerously thin one when it comes to the Nightshade Beta as he continues to scowl at his new companion.

"I...am not...You. I am...Tobi."

That he believes the woman to be confused, that he believes her to think his name is You, is evidently clear now, the Were correcting her now in those broken, forced words, each syllable a struggle though he manages all the same. She reaches suddenly towards him, each muscle tensing rapidly in the creature as if he attempts to decide within mere seconds as to whether the woman is deserving of a bite, eyeing her warily like an animal within the zoo before she gestures to the prize he has pilfered. His grip upon it only tightens , pulling it further from her reach, evidently unwilling to return it as she speaks once more and his head tilts slightly to the side like a curious puppy.

"It......does things?"

One eye lifts ever so slightly, a learned facial expression, his inability to truly perceive emotion assuring near all his expressions are merely copied from those around him, applied to situations in the same manner in which he has seen them applied- his grip still steadfast upon the broach before he seems, suddenly, to soften, holding it out towards her now, permitting her to take it as he reaches for his own lamb shank bone. It is far larger, far tastier and thusly far superior to his mind and yet like a child he remains determined to have what he simply does not.

"Do you...want to trade?"

He is nothing if not cunning- dangerously so, when the mood should strike him, handsome young features arranging suddenly to mimic the smile he has been offered by the girl. Yet it hardly reaches his gaze, making the look seem oddly misplaced upon him before it drops entirely once more and he shuffles slightly closer to the girl. There is something....wrong with him, perhaps, or so they are content to say- so many fearing what they don't understand and yet for now at least no scent of fear lingers from the woman.

"Show me."
