East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

She was such a gullible little thing it was almost laughable. Truly after her experiences with being turned by the fae it was something of a marvel she allowed herself to trust this readily, this easily and yet the man sees no need dismiss is ow good fortune in that regard. It only made his task all the more easier, each offered word so carefully placed, his features shifting from regret to concern as if the emotion behind his words was truly real, as if he actually cared. There was no need to add further words, letting the colour drain from the girls face at her own volition, her mind surely taking his words, twisting them, expanding them, moulding them to her fears without his assistance. The mind was such a terribly amusing place in the way it worked, so easy to tease, to taunt, to break down when pushed in just the right manner. Her offers her no immediate form of comfort, allowing her to wrap her own arms around herself, nervousness leaking from her like a particularly potent perfume that the animal within himself could sense so readily. He may not be a predator by design and yet how many had made that mistake before? To judge so entirely by the animal he was. How little they truly understood of his own capabilities. For a moment the equine simply allows his gaze to rest upon her, there nervous motion to her every movement, the distress so clearly in her gaze brought on at his hands. Had he ever truly looked this vulnerable? Is this the way he had seemed as a child all those years ago at the hands of his own tormentors? So....weak? He is loath to reflect upon any of his past, there was little there that brought any joy and for a moment the man finds himself irritable that such memories had found him all the same.

The girl moves to pull back the curtain as he gestures towards it, his own magic working a flawless pattern throughout the crowd to assure she see's entirely what he desires her to see, the hitch within her breathing, the nervous, taut hold to her form seeing the faintest trace of a simper ghost his features from behind her before allowing his expression to shift into a look of concern yet again as she turns to face him with terror in her gaze. Perhaps he should be moved by her fear, perhaps some part of himself should feel something for the scared, desperate little creature and yet truly the stallions fails to find an ounce of sympathy for the girl- her mention of Nadya alone stirring some reaction from the otherwise apathetic creature whose features remained contorted into a façade of caring concern.

"Nadya is not involved, that much I assure you of, she and her brother differ on many things- it is one of the reasons she has lived away from her pack for so long though it may be best not to involve her at all."

It would be outside his own interests to have the girl fear Nadya as well, the panther's estrangement from her family however offering his own deceit all the more weight with such an explanation, whatever loyalty Sam felt to her employer exploited in much the same manner beneath the ruse of simply not involving Nadya. Surely Samantha cared for her and as such, she surely had no desire to involve her. To care was a rather tragic affliction. It is his mention of Aiden that so seems to spark a true flare of anger within the girl, her irritation like a flickering flame that held little true force behind it and yet for a moment the man near considers stoking it all the more as she rounds upon him. His shoulders move to lift into a shrug of sorts, a helpless look of defeat seeming to hold each line of his form.

"I'm sorry I....you shouldn't have had to hear it from me... I hope your right about Aiden."

His words are tainted with regret, though his emotions remains as distinctly frigid as his namesake, his final words offered as if he attempts some final act of kindness born from pity before she seems to notice the shadows that linger behind him, the illusionary fae slipping back away and into the crowd as if to take with him the information he has surely overheard. Her sudden gasp sees the man turn, following her gaze, acting as if he truly expects to see something behind him, eyes narrowing as what little of his eyes can be seen turn back to meet her own.

"Who was who? Wait...go where?"

It is quite a decent act, one hand reaching out as if he intends to stop her, as if his great concern for her safety sees him offer some shadow of protection before her mind does just as he anticipated it to- inventing its own insecurities as she asks instead to be walked home. For a moment the stallion merely pauses, biting down upon his lip almost nervously as if the prospect of becoming involved in the affairs of the fae requires great consideration, the man nodding at last.

"You probably shouldn't go alone."

One hand gestures briefly to the door as he moves to step back towards it, assuring Samantha was following before he steps back out and onto the street, the images and thoughts that littered her mind a veritable canopy of chaos some part of the man truly revelled in, another part of him.....holding some concern for how displeased Nadya may be at his little game. For now however, the prize far outweighed the potential cost (how mad could Nadya truly get?) as he moved to wander back down the street with Sam beside him, allowing the girl to direct. Knowing where she lived, after all, would prove a rather valuable bit of information. For several blocks at least the only sound to be heard is the passing of an occasional car and their shoes upon the sidewalk, it is not until they are nearly halfway that the sound of boots scuffing against the pavement- out of time with their own movements- sees the stallion turn. The sound is no more real then the imagined fae within the club and yet his powers in this regard are extensive, the man turning away in the same moment as another shadowy figure slips off the path and into the alleyway, seen perhaps by Sam alone as Frost merely continues to walk- as if shrugging off the sound.

"Do you live alone? Is there a friend who lives nearby at least?"

The concern within his voice remains, afraid as she was she should hardly be alone and yet the question is not near so innocent as it seems. He is searching, openly, for information about how she lives. A roommate could prove entirely problematic, another set of eyes and ears and thoughts to cater for- a friend living within easy reach could offer the same and yet his far more nefarious intentions remain so smoothly concealed beneath the concern of the question itself. Another few blocks sees the young fae woman pause, Frost readily noting the address.

"Can you manage from here?"
