East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

If fear is in the mind
then my mind lives in fear

Seb managed to break down any walls Darien had spent years building. He was impulsive with his emotions around the vampire; vulnerable, weak. It frightens the Fae and when he realizes this, he pulls away. Wiping away any wouldbe tears from his eyes, feeling ever so foolish and emotional. Pathetic. So fucking pathetic! His cheeks turn slightly red from a blush of embarrassment, not sure how to react or say. He wanted to apologize like he always did, but even if he wanted to, his throat tightens up and nothing comes out. Pathetic, stupid! He impatiently reaches over to grab the whiskey bottle, taking another large swig of it and fighting the flinch from the burn of the alcohol. By now he feels the buzz and he knew his unstable emotional state was bound to get worse if he didn't pace himself.

But it was hard. A coping mechanism he relied on now. An addiction and one he wasn't ready to give up yet. In fact, he found himself rather loving the painkillers, too. Where he couldn't find the same feelings people get from each other, he found in substances.

Darien quickly decides to change the subject back to what it was intended, looking down at the pavement, his shoes, just whatever was in his field of sight. For Darien couldn't look at Sebastian now. "What do you mean help me with," He points at the cut on his face in a lazy, intoxicated manner, " these?" Was there some potion or some power he had? As long as it didn't require Darien making an ass of himself any longer, he was willing to try anything. Maybe it was the alcohol. Maybe it was his affinity towards the vampire, but he's quite willing at this point. "It's not gonna hurt, is it?"

Because he had endured enough pain quite recently, in every fashion from mental to physical.

Standing up from the bench, Darien's mood changes from depressive to devil-may-care. He doesn't wait for a reply. He was feeling wide awake and energized; both by the whiskey and by Sebastian. It surely was the whiskey at this point and the company, but at least he wasn't a shriveled little mess any longer. For the first time in several minutes, he looks Seb directly in the eyes, sniffling away any last remnants of sadness. "I dunno about you but I say a change of scenery would be nice. I'm sure someplace more private would have to do for this though, right?" Maybe my hotel room? No .. too frank, too direct. Even though he wanted to say it, nervous butterflies fill his gut. Should I? Darien bites his lower lip, arguing with himself inside his head for several seconds before his voice finds its footing.

It cracks a little from the anxiety. "I have a room at some shitty motel not too far from here." He can't say anymore, and instead looks down and then back at Seb, waiting and watching his every inflection for a sign. But what sign was he looking for? Anything that wasn't a shutdown he supposed. For there was an attraction. One that was new to the fairy and he was still trying to find his confidence to explore it, to accept it. His heart races, worried, waiting, wondering. Seb obviously had some of these same feelings, right? You don't grab someone's waist and kiss them at a bar if there isn't some attraction, right? Was it simply that all vampires were lust filled little gremlins? Darien had so many questions, but it all seemed so rude to say anything. Part of me doesn't want to know, actually.

And there it was, the truth. Even if it was a trick or a lie, Darien was happy to live in it. "Or we could go someplace else, I mean. Just ... I'm fucking this up, ain't I?" He gives an edgy smile and a short chuckle to accompany it, taking another swig and offering it to Seb as a counter measure. I'm fucking this up, yep.
