He remembered the scent of Henry's cologne and that look of concern when the man had brushed his fingers against Sterling's forehead, pushing back those dark locks. He vaguely remembered Henry's voice muttering something at him and yet, at the time, he hadn't been able to make out what he was saying. He could hear the sound of a near blaring alarm somewhere over head and those equally as muted voices that surrounded him, even if he couldn't make out quite what they were saying. The world sounded so muted and god how he hurt. He'd begun to bleed through several of the bandages Henry had attempted to place upon those deep claw marks that littered his frame. Those claws had sliced through his flesh like a hot knife moved through a block of cold butter. Those gashes in his back were deep, rivaled perhaps only by the one near his groin and yet, his ankle too felt as if it was on fire. In fact, in that moment as he laid in the back of that ambulance, his whole world felt like it was on fire. He could feel the vehicle beginning to slow, even if Sterling had yet to open his eyes, some level of consciousness returned to him.

His eyebrows furrowed as they moved him from the vehicle, his body flinched by that simple jarring motion and yet the cool kiss of the spring air upon his skin somehow offered some sweet relief. His bright blue eyes fluttered open, Sterling entirely aware that he was outside, even if he had no recollection of how he had gotten here or truly, what had happened. The last thing he remembered was the way Henry's body has changed nearly on top of him. He remembered that black fur and those extended claws. He remembered those once loving bright blue eyes staring at him in an entirely deadly fashion. Sterling thought he'd make it to the bathroom....right? But this was definitely not a bathroom. Maybe he'd gone outside? But the sky overhead was bright like sunrise. Henry would shift back soon and Sterling was convinced he needed to be there for the man. He winced once again as he tried to sit up, the paramedic who had brought him was entirely oblivious to his movements, instead having left the boy to discuss something with their driver. There should have been someone to receive him, to pay any ounce of dutiful attention to the wounded, bleeding man and yet, in that precarious moment, no one quite had their eye on him.

He sat up, reaching up to hold his head as that vertigo from losing so much blood threatened to send the boy tumbling. It took him a few seconds to gather his wits, his bright blue eyes turned towards his surroundings, his eyebrows furrowed in clear confusion. Briefly, he glanced over the young girl sitting on a bench not terribly far away from him - but where was Henry? He needed to find Henry. He needed to make sure that the man was okay. He needed to make sure Henry was able to shift back okay. He pushed himself off of that gurney, his ankle nearly collapsing under the additional weight, that gash within his leg from Henry's claws was enough to send a hiss through his lips as he attempted to clutch onto the rolling bed, attempting to make some sense of the world he found himself in.
