He loved to let this side of himself out to play every so often. It helped keep those darker urges at bay more when he was around his fiance. It meant she didn't have to see just how fucked up he really was. Anna wasn't playing by anyone's rules but her own and he enjoyed that. It made it so much easier for him to let loose and just be a vampire for once. He was sure she had a lot more surprises she was hiding in the form of powers but he was a patient creature by nature so he could wait to see what else she had to offer. He liked that she had chosen hide and seek. Sure, it was a little cliche for hunting humans but he always did enjoy playing with his food. The smell of their fear was tantalizing.

The man obviousy chose the first open path he saw, up the stairs. As Damon gestured for her to go first, she smirked at him and took the bait, her sprint slowing as they made it to the second floor. At first he thought she was just stalling the chase a little, giving them a little suspense and letting the man's fear ramp up a little as he waited for the inevitable. Then he realized that the suites on this floor were still occupied and the humans within had no idea what was transpiring beneath their very noses. It probably wouldn't be morning before some early bird wandered downstairs and saw the aftermath of what Anna had accomplished. He tilted his head as Anna commented on something being breakable, wondering if she was talking about the doors or the humans.

Then she turned to him and he paused, blinking at her in question as she asked about the red one. She could only mean Isolt. She mentioned that Isolt didn't like breaking humans and asked why he was and if he was hers. He laughed, holding up his left hand.

"You have it all wrong. See a ring? She's mine. And I happen to enjoy breaking all things breakable. It helps curb my boredom. She's just too in touch with her humanity, is all. Time heals all things."

He shrugged. He wasn't sure some days if Isolt would ever move past her humanity but he loved her anyway. He just hid away the parts of him that he didn't want her to see. It was better that way.
