North

Within the Northern vicinity of the city, the wealthy gather behind meticulously trimmed hedges and high-class architecture. The pristine streets are paved with stone and the storefronts are brightly lit and inviting - for the right clientele. In the North, every establishment is eager to cater to the rich and the wealthy. Many such places are used to the sometimes peculiar requests of the otherworldly but here there is little that money cannot buy - whether it happens to be illegal or merely involves looking the other way. Vampires and Dark Hunters are often found upon these Northern streets, their long lives often contributing to their sizable wealth which allows them the luxuries that the North provides.

North

It's not the long walk home that will change this heart, but the welcome I receive after the restart.

Miya is even prettier than he remembers, and Dareios watches her carefully but with renewed interest as she falters somewhat under his gaze. He can feel her heart beat quicken as she waits for him to address her, and for a just a moment, the age-old vampire can see the slightest pulse of the artery in her neck as blood pulsated through her body. Perhaps it was because she caught him at an inopportune time, where he wasn't so straight laced and camera ready, as usual. But Dareios let his stare linger, feeling a sudden tingling sensation rise in what would be his guts, if he were alive, which reminded him he was hungry. His mouth began to warm and salivate, and he could feel his fangs 'flick on', as they do, when he was ready to feast. The vampire swallowed hard in an attempt to gain control of his bubbling, predatory sensations, and turned his head away from the girl momentarily and as he chugged down several gulps from his glass of wine. He only swiveled back in his bar stool to face her again once the primal feelings had mostly subsided.

She sits and he stiffens up a bit, this time braced for whatever his body would try to lurch out of him next. Dareios nods his head politely and flashes a bright grin at her cute comment about his looks but let's it die as their conversation moves on to more important matters, like the street lights. "That's good to hear." He says in a confirmatory manner, pleased to know the city staff he oversees were efficient in their jobs. The vampire raises an eyebrow as she elaborates about her position at the hospital. He hand known she was a student, but not in the medical realm. "The hospital is fantastic. I hope you enjoy your experience with the doctors there. I hear they're quite good." He says, nonchalantly re-filling his own glass with the uncorked bottle perched next to him on the bar top. "What is your specialty?"

Dareios found Miya's clumsiness quite charming. That was, after all, what sparked his curiosity about her the first time the met in the cafe. So when she departs briefly to collect her things on the other side of the bar, he watches her with keen interest. How peculiar she was, but he liked it. Dareios marveled at how the blood still rose to her porcelain cheeks and small nose, even though she'd been inside the bar for at least several minutes and away from the cold. The blood there was warming her skin to a temperature he could feel inherently within himself, in a fierce longing kind of way. He tugged at his glass and began to drink almost feverishly as he felt the tightness in his throat and his fangs on the verge of appearing yet again. He hadn't had this difficult of a time keeping his instincts in check in quite some time. It was beginning to irritate him.

"A Cabernet Sauvignon." He says pointedly, cocking his head to one side as he gauged her interest. "Are you a fan of red wine? I'd be happy to pour you a glass." He offers, signaling with the swipe of his hand to the bar maid to request an additional glass. "It's savory, but not too sweet. And excellent at keeping one warm on such a blustery day."
