It feels like I only go backwards

Vitani exuded confidence from every pore of her body. It was as if she enjoyed being bathed in the shower of hungry, desired looks the other men, and even women, were feeding her. It was rare to find somebody so, accepting of themselves and their nature. Refreshing, was the best word for it. Ludo could only imagine that this was a sadistic game she experienced and partook in all too often. Queen bee, was a great comparison when describing this woman, he thought. The way she led on the hopes of the many men, drooling at her feet, only to crush any glimmer of hope in one single look, Ludo thought was rather amusing.

In a twisted way, Ludo was ready to play the game she openly presented to him. Firstly, out of curiosity. Secondly, he had to admit that he was somewhat drunk on her beauty as well. He was a man of course, and there were desires that plagued his mind. The only reason he kept avoiding furthering himself down the path she so wanted to lead him on, was Miya. The small, petite Asian woman badgering his cogitation of impulses, kept his level head.

Scratching his 5 o'clock stubble he took a deep breath, contemplating what the consequences of this night could produce. He couldn't help but furrow his brows as he brought his whisky to his lips. It didn't take a moment later for him to hear Vitani ask what was on his mind. "Oh, I think I left my door unlocked," he laughed, an obvious lie but one that she seemed fine with ignoring. He just wanted to shift the conversation in a direction that was opposite of his momentary thoughts.

As they continue their small chat, she tells him about her being born in London. "Ah, really? London is an interesting place," Ludo added, recalling back to his brief business travel to the dirty, gloomy city. "I'm from Naples. It seems that we both are from the grittier side of the countries," he chuckled. He was comfortable with giving the information to her, maybe a little careless, thinking what could she possibly dissect from where he lived. He didn't see any harm in the moment of their conversation revealing some truths about himself. Acknowledging that for an assassin, he had a rather difficult time remembering all the lies he had to create undercover. It was a work in progress still for him. So, when he could throw truths in the conversation, he willingly did.

Liquor was the next topic at hand. Ludo confessing that he picked his drink merely by the label, Vitani was kittenish in her response of how she admired a man that took risks. "How do you know what you like if you don't explore?" Ludo responded, a slight smirk dancing across his face. After their exchange of introductions, she suavely sent another compliment Ludo's way. "Hmm." Ludo contemplated as a red flag was mentally raised. No matter how courageous the woman was, it was unusual for ladies to keep throwing and onslaught of flattering remarks unless there was something they ultimately wanted to get out of the interaction. Although, it didn't seem that she was after the usual idea that coquettish conversations would lead to.

Oh, but how he wanted to play the game. "Vitani, it rolls easily off the tongue. A beautiful name," Ludo praised. "Although, I'm sure you've heard that before," he genuinely teased. He noticed how she was eyeing him, observing how he appeared. He was in his casual clothes that resembled a modern-day greaser. A plain white V-neck shirt dressed beneath a sleek motorbike leather jacket and sported one small gold chain that was an heirloom his grandfather wore and generations before him. Taking the time to fully examine Vitani, she wore a sweater dress that hugged all the right places. She knew exactly what she had to flaunt, and she did it extremely well. Her blonde hair cascading down her shoulders while attractively framing her slender oval face. Toying with the silver chain that rested upon the middle of her chest, she mentioned how charming he was and how it was a delightful change from the usual company she kept. "I have to say the same. It's quite refreshing for a change," he nodded, raising his glass in a toast to her company, their drinks clinking in agreeance.

Asking her what she was doing in such a city, she told him a vague answer of her solo journey curious of what the people in the city were like. "Well, I hope you have more luck than I. Even though I have visited many cities, much larger than this, I've never experienced living in one. It's more isolating than I ever imagined," Ludo stated honestly. "Surrounded by so many people, yet all uncourteous and expecting any sort of interaction is because the other is after something is tiring. Mentally, I'm starting to think the same way, I don't know how I feel about it." Ludo spoke more openly than he ever anticipated to, but he thought perhaps she would have some sort of life experience that explained the oddities of more populated cities. Hypocritically stating, deep in his mind throughout their meeting, he was sure that she was wanting something other than just his company. Wanting to practice what he preached, any red flags that were raised in their encounter, he brushed deep into the back of his mind.

Aware of her empty martini glass, he went ahead and refilled their refreshments at the bar. Sauntering back with a antipasto platter and two glasses filled to the brim with their desired drinks they sat there, enjoying picking apart the food and savoring each other's company. Unaware of how lost he was within experimenting the various flavor combinations the charcuterie board presented, she softly commented on how true of an Italian man he was. "My mother raised me right then I suppose," he toothily grinned, falling victim to her pure jade eyes that playfully studied him. Asking her why she exactly moved to Sacro, she replied casually stating that she wanted a new experience and how she was impressed with what she found. Ludo instantly realized she was commenting on him. Placing his elbow on the table, leaning in, his smooth dark lyrics teasing back, "I am impressed as well."

Answering her inquiry to the question at hand, "I'm here to expand my father's business. I will soon be taking it over and I'm taking care of things on this end," he vaguely stated. This was an area where he knew could he could get in trouble if he spoke too much about it. "So yes, for business mostly. Love? I don't know. Is that truly possible?" He jested, yet at the back of his mind was an image of Miya that surfaced. Yet, he knew that anything with her wouldn't be possible in a million years. He supposed it was a good idea to move past things between him and her. She was just too far out of his grasp. "If you've found love, let me know where I can find it," he wittily replied, staring into her hypnotic eyes.
They were soon interrupted by a waiter who came over and asked if they wanted anything else, Ludo checked his watch and asked, "Well Vitani, would you like to get out of here?"
