"Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck." Buffy cursed under her breathe, as she ran at full stride down the damp sidewalk. She didn't have time to consider what she may have looked like to the average bystander, as she tore off down the street in bare feet, the black, floor-length gown with the thigh-high slit billowing almost elegantly behind her as she ran. The thin dark hunter rounded another corner at the next block, but she could still hear the stamping of booted footsteps behind her, echoing off the asphalt and cool concrete, and the old brick mansions all around them.

It was unlike Buffy to pick up an assignment from the Council on this side of town. Despite being relatively good at her job, the gritty, scrappy hunter wasn't so good at fitting in, nor even faking it. So when the call came in to take out a ring of age-old vampires convening in a mansion on the northside of town for some weird-ass cult-like sacrifice sex party, at first she hesitated. But Buffy was desperate for work. Her good standing with the Council was shaky at best, first with what happened with and her Jason a couple of years ago, and now that she needed some time off after being roofied in a bar a couple of weeks ago. Somehow, Buffy managed to keep the fact that Sebastian, a vampire of all things, is who saved her from an even more traumatic experience that night.

But here she was.

The thin, but impressively strong statured supernatural woman was able to stake two vampires in quick succession before the tides turned and her cover was blown. Buffy was now sprinting through a well-lit park, her wide brown eyes searching for the bench and the familiar bush where she'd stashed her pack, which held more weapons and a more appropriate change of clothes. But her instincts told her she didn't have time. As such, she continued to run in her gown, the satin black heels dangling from one hand and a wooden stake clutched in another.

A dimly-lit sign shone just a block down the street from the park, and Buffy honed in on it. She slowed her pace to a walk just 10 or so steps away from the entrance, where she brashly tried to flatten and tame her hair and slipped her wet and dirty bare feet back into the dreaded high heels. She delicately tucked the stake back into the holster fastened around her thigh. And with a deep breathe, she flung open the door to whatever establishment, smiled brightly and laughed loudly at nothing, in an attempt to show that where or whatever this place was, she was supposed to be there.

Her eyes darted around the room quickly before she walked slowly up to the desk. There she read the menu of services, quickly coming to realize she was in a spa, of all things. "Do you have an appointment, ma'am?" A man behind the desk asked. "Of course, I do." She spat back. "Smith!" She blurted out. "Is the last name." She turned swiftly then in her now-wrinkled party attire, and took a seat near a young man in the sitting room. The man at the desk followed her with his eyes and a befuddled look upon his face. "Ms. Jane Smith, I take it?" He asked, and Buffy bobbed her head in a confirmatory manner, with all the confidence in the world. In the mean time, she kept her eyes peeled on the front door.
