... everybody wants to be a cat because only a cat knows where it's at ...

Everyone in this world had a talent, even if they were entirely unaware of it. Some could play guitar in such a way that one might think they'd simply been born with the talent. The way their hands and fingers would work that instrument, it had always left the were woman deeply enamored, almost always taking the time to step and listen to someone sitting on the side of a bustling street or outlet mall. In fact, she could think of several occasions where she'd stopped and sat there with those yet-to-be-discovered musicians simply to listen for as long as they would allow her. Others could create breathtaking pieces of artwork, their gestures and movements nearly as elegant and graceful as the beautiful landscapes they brought to live on a stark, blank canvas. She'd always loved visiting local art galleries or museums, admiring in wide-eyed wonder at the countless styles and visions taken from a single thought and given a physical form for all the world to witness and enjoy. Then, there were those who could take simple ingredients, a little flour, a variety of carefully, skillfully selected spiced... and craft it all into a dish that would have the were woman instantly famished and yearning almost instantly. She could hardly remember all the amazing foods she'd been so fortunate to taste! Just as Achilles had his weakness, one of Ren's was most definitely food. She'd be among the very first to admit that she had many weaknesses that could very nearly have her stopping in her tracks, forget entirely what it was she'd set out to do if she were to encounter any of them. With that said, there was no denying that she very thoroughly enjoyed a good, tasty meal or treat. So, it shouldn't come as a surprise in any sense that she very much enjoyed those brilliant recipes created by someone with such a talent.

It was truly amazing to think of just how many different things there were out there that one might have a talent in. Artists, musicians, world-class chefs, authors, singers, athletes... there was absolutely not enough time in a day for her to name each and every spectacular gift that existed in the world.

For all the extravagant talents in the world, there were the smaller gifts that meant just as much, and yet they often went unnoticed by most of the world. There were the jovial spirits that could bring laughter to nearly any heart weighed down by grief, natural-born entertainers entirely capable of captivating any who would look their way. Some would seem to have a natural and almost innate affinity to plant life, wildlife, or sometimes even both. They could bring any withering plant from the brink of death and make it thrive, soothe any fearful creature into a state of absolute trust and affection. Such subtle dispositions or characteristics were so often outshined by the bright and perhaps often glamorous light of those more revered actions or talents, but they were far from lost upon Ren. If anything, while she was an admirer of so many different things, loved the breathtaking diversity of souls she's met throughout her life, being ever the wonderstruck spirit forever eager to discover that which she had yet to see or experience for herself, the were woman found the hidden "gemstones" of the world evermore captivating. There was something about the nameless stranger serenading a faceless crowd into stillness and awe that left her a touch more mystified, gave her heart a little more warmth and delight than those much larger and more flamboyant displays or actions. For her, there was something about being able to see someone's heart and soul poured wholly into something that meant a little more. Then again, it had been Ren's mother who'd told her once that, ever since she was little, the were woman had always had a glow within those ocean-blue eyes that seemed to see in others what many - and even they themselves at times - might not, that she had been born with a seeker's spirit.

"For all your bright curiosity, Ren, you never seem satisfied until you have seen the smallest flowers bloom"... The feline can hear her mother's voice echoing softly there within her memories as she trots after the young man in that stone-grey suit walking the cobblestone streets that so intrigued her.

Although she is unable to describe that strange pull towards him, the feline doesn't let her thoughts linger too heavily on the sensation. It meant something... what, she could not say, but she does nothing to fight against it as she draws closer to him now. He stops in his strides at the sound of her voice, turning to meet her ocean-blue gaze with his of stunning amber that nearly seems to flicker light firelight in the glow of the street lights surrounding them, giving her the same charismatic smile she'd seen the moment he'd walked into her sight.'His smile is almost as bright as his eyes!'... He croons a greeting to the feline, squatting down before her and reaching out a hand, Ren happily closing what little distance lingered between them, purring as he rubs under her chin, ocean-blue eyed squinting in pleasure at the sensation. When he ceased, she blinks up at the man, sitting there before him and wrapping her long, seal-brown tail over matching forepaws. He speaks quietly down to her again, gesturing behind him and towards the restaurant, Ren glancing in the direction of the door for only a fleeting moment before looking back up at the young man, whiskers twitching in amusement as he mentions the establishment's policy on cats. Had she been in her human form, the were woman would have giggled, but instead she simply trills as though she understood. And she did, of course.'I'm sure they'd let me into a cat café, though'... Again, her whiskers twitch in amusement at such a thought. It would certainly be easy for her to make new friends in such a place, but she was also fairly certain that entering a cat café might be a challenge to leave, the odds that she would be quite literally adopted rather high considering the attention she could draw just meandering along the streets of Sacrosanct.

Perhaps she should suggest that to her boss when she went back to the café, allowing customers to bring in their companions. Surely the city could use more companion-friendly places! Then, maybe, the feline and her newfound companion might just enjoy a meal indoors at some quaintly dressed table.

Despite the silly wanderings of the were woman in that moment, she hardly misses the way that his amber gaze seems to be looking over the faces of those walking along the opposite sidewalk or standing near the store entrances, everyone entirely absorbed in their own personal worlds.'Who's he looking for? Was he heading towards a business dinner or something?'... Ren tilts her head curiously to one side now, again blinking ocean-blue eyes up at the man, seeming to have not found what it was he'd been searching for, the feline entirely unaware of the fact that he believed she belonged to someone and might have wandered off. Well, the wandering part was relatively accurate... Seeming to abandon his initial search for that unknown thing, the young man reaches out to the feline again, Ren entirely content to allow that chin scratch, even leaning into his touch as mindful fingers worked their way to the top of her head, the feline's purring only intensifying with delight.'Mmmm, that's nice'... He stops again, almost to the feline's disappointment, looking back to the restaurant then back to her ocean-blue gaze. He speaks again, this time of how he was certain she'd been on adventure.'I sure have! And I'm glad I did, because I found you'... Unable to reply with words, she simply waves her long tail in a wordless agreement he likely wouldn't understand, offering him a meow of acceptance to his invitation, looking up at him almost expectantly. When he asks if she wanted some fish, she trills again, kneading the cobblestone sidewalk beneath her paws.'I love fish!'...

Ren gets to all four paws now with her dark tail held high, purring loudly as she moves closer, arching her back and rubbing cream and seal-brown fur against the young man. This was much better than sitting in her townhouse. Besides, intuition or not, the were woman had a feeling that he needed a friend... and she very much wanted to be that friend.
