Emmy only seemed amused when he suggested she come up with a stage name for him. Guess he should have known better. He smirked as she used his name though, admitting she'd have to hear him sing sober before she could do that. He couldn't help but chuckle. "Might be a while before I get that name, then. I told you. I'm too shy to sing sober." His eyes were amused though as he took another swig of his drink. She actually laughed when he complimented her for drinking Bourbon, saying she'd take anything free and he quirked a brow. "Somehow, I doubt that." He murmured in disagreement, but it wasn't just to disagree. It was his way of saying he felt she had standards and wouldn't hesitate to turn something down that seemed too good to be true. She looked like she had a good head on her shoulders. Maybe he was just judging too soon, but he usually had an eye for these things.

The blonde admitted she was more for Whiskey or Vodka and he smirked a little. "At least, it's all top shelf." He poured them both another glass and looked back up at her as she agreed with him about heartbreak, saying that he drowned his sorrows. He chuckled before nodding. "Got that right. Can't feel it if you're numb, right?"

He hadn't meant for the singing question to come off personal but it looked like he'd hit a nerve when she suddenly put the glass down. If anything, he thought talking some more about her passion would be a lighter subject than asking why she came to Sacrosanct or what had her sitting at a drunken stranger's booth. Guess he was wrong. Yet Emmy still answered, telling him she didn't have skills or a diploma. His brows furrowed as she told him all she had was her voice. He was trying to think of the best thing to say back when she confessed that she writes music, too. His head tilted. "Have you sang any of your stuff here?" She seemed like such a private person, he was sure her lyrics would hint at the mystery she left bottled up so tightly, so would she risk someone seeing through the cracks of her wall by listening to her sing them?
