The times have changed and people along with it. Vampires, with their longer life spans, have held onto some of the older traditions and others have adapted and left the old ways behind. I have met many vampires in my life span. There are the simple ones who have routine and like to stick to it. Then there are the few and far between complex ones. They're unpredictable. You never know what they're going to do. I pride myself on being one of those complex ones. I play it suave and I do my part but at the end of the day, I like to think that no one can really guess my goals except me.

She looks me right in the eye as if trying to see into my soulless depths. In the same way, I watch every move she makes. I watch her fingers trail the rim of her glass before lifting it to her lush lips. I watch her lower her glass while never losing eye contact with me. She makes a comment with a giggle before biting on her bottom lip. I almost envy those teeth. Her second comment has my brow rising in challenge. Someone to occupy her time, huh? Before I can think up a smart come back, the bartender arrives with a fresh glass of my favorite. I nod to him as he disappears back to the bar. Yes, I'm a regular, or at least, have been since I first found this little nook in the wall. It has a certain flair to it and while I do still visit Syn on occasion, I can't go long without paying The Voodoo Room a visit.

I glance around the room. There is a certain mixture of groups here as well which is almost refreshing. syn seems to attract the darker side of town, more vampires, more Were's, more trouble. The goths, the wanna be's all make it their home. This place has class and doesn't let in the riff raff. The vampires blend in better and the Were's actually branch out instead of huddling in their own little groups. The humans don't feel afraid here. In Syn, it's almost common to catch them huddled in the corner enjoying their not so private feed. There's a distinct difference here. Maybe that's why I like it so much.

My keen hearing picks up on the subtle sound of a shoe hitting the ground as if slipped off. I have just enough time to furrow my brow in question before I feel her foot against my leg. My eyes darken and glisten with mischief. I guess I don't always have to be the first one to make the move. She purrs and leans over the table with a question that has me leaning forward as well so that we're only inches apart. My voice is low and smooth.

"I might know a handful, but I don't know if they're up to your standards. You might be disappointed."

I watch her as she leans back, keeping myself just as I am, daring her with my bright blues. She runs her fingers through her hair and brings them back to her glass. Downing the last of her drink, she returns to watching me as I do her. I have a feeling I know where she wants this to go but I'm more of a get to the point kind of guy. Don't get me wrong, I like to tease and play a little but if she's wanting a little company for tonight, she'll have to be a little more forward, otherwise I'll have to believe she's just testing to see if I'm just another horn dog looking to sink my fangs in. I do have some kind of discipline, you know.

I reach forward for my own glass, bringing it to my lips as I down it easily, my eyes never leaving her own. I bring one hand nonchalantly under the table, letting the tip of my fingers trail across her silky smooth ankle.
