It's not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive at the restart.

Dareios did not like being a part of situations in which he was not in control. But Sorcha was willing to play along, and clearly follow his lead in this arrangement, which he predicted but was relieved to see play out as planned before him. For the most part, Dareios was happy playing the role of 'friendly neighborhood vampire' who sat upon a lofty fortune. He genuinely liked helping others whom he thoroughly vetted and researched, and ultimately decided that they were worthy of his help or money. He did not know Sorcha well. There wasn't much information out there about the witch, who clearly and coolly flew under the radar. But he was impressed with what he heard about her reputation among the shifters. And Dareios prided himself on being a relatively good judge of character. He could not foresee any real risk in bringing her into the fold. Nothing he couldn't handle down the road, anyway.

So when she clearly states she won't be getting to anything illegal, he merely nods. No need to press the point. As she shifts the conversation to his other business, a gentle smirk appears across his lips ans he folds his hands neatly in his lap. "Of course, the showroom is downstairs. But I suggest you return when the staff is here. They are far more knowledgeable about the product than I am. Nevertheless, I think you'll be impressed." His grin spreads as she continues. He was always fond those who shared his interest in the past.

"I know they will. You're a sure thing, Sorcha." He says, happy to see her exhibit some confidence after her shaky entrance. The questions about that still swirl in the darker corners of his mind. He debates the idea of bringing it up again, if there's ever an appropriate time for two acquaintances to breach such a jarring subject. But their conversation churns on and the thought is fleeting. "Why don't you cook up a variety of things you think will sell and drop them off later this week. I'll test them and offer them for sale to a small sample group, and we can reconvene after that." He extends his hand to her in a simple but firm gesture of a business agreement. He always hated this part. Humans were always so startled by how cold a vampire's body was, it being merely a carcass with no blood circulation, after all.

With that he stands, hands instinctively moving to press down against his sports coat, noting her sweating glass on the of the mahogany table, and moves quickly to retrieve it and bring it back to the bar at the other end of the room. He chuckles out loud, though softly when she finally gets the courage to ask him how old he is, a common inquiry newcomers seem sheepish, though so curious to ask, when they first meet a vampire. "How old do you think I am?" He asks, turning coolly on his heels, his cold, white-knuckled hands hidden in the pockets of his trousers now. A playful eyebrow is raised.

"Would you like to stay for dinner? Only if you have the time. I feel like a celebration is in order. My driver can take you home promptly after."
