It's not the long walk home that will change this heart,
But the welcome I receive at the restart.

The ever-polite vampire moves swiftly to take the witch's coat, handling it delicately and placing it on the rack not far from the door in the foyer. He listens intently to her as she speaks, his dark eyes noticing how she reacts to the frigid temperatures that linger in the room with them. Dareios isn't affected by it like she is, however. He is cold blooded after all, but after years of living among humans, he'd trained his habits to be more intuitive to their basic needs. He eyes the thermostat from across the room but knows well enough that it's set to keep the brownstone at a comfortable temperature, if only for his antique staff. "Can I interest in you in a hot cup of coffee? Or a glass of wine? Something to rid you of that chill from outside?" He offers nonchalantly, before urging Sorcha to follow him into the kitchen, just a few short steps down the hall.

The kitchen was perhaps his favorite part of this historic brownstone. Though recently renovated, many of its original charms remained. Several pans and pots were static on the dark granite counter top, waiting patiently where Dareios left them to welcome Sorcha into his home. The vampire walks around them effortlessly, looking to Sorcha for instructions of what he could make for her. With his back turned he listened to her inquiries, nodding his head in acknowledgement as he pulled a bottle of pinot nior from a case adjacent to the refrigerator. He turns to face her now, the bottle clasped lazily in one hand, and he shrugs, one thin dark eyebrow raised in a playful manner, as if to tempt her with the wine.

"You should be pleased. Your product has been moving quite well. Above expectations, that's for certain." He said, his speech licked in his usual thick Irish accent. "Especially the healing potions. It seems they are quite powerful." Dareios had been selling Sorcha's lot for a few weeks now. It seems he'd made a good investment by agreeing to work with her. It was fate, perhaps, that on that night on the West side of town had brought them together. "So what's next? What's this big idea?" The vampire leans back against the cool counter top, one hand coolly placed in the pocket of his well-fitted pinstripe trousers as the other runs gently through his slicked-back dark locks, coming to rest for a moment at the back of his neck. "Unless you're not in the mood to talk business. There's always a time and a place for that."

Unbeknowest to Sorcha, but Dareios, too, was rather lonely. That's the unfortunate part of being a vampire and fraternizing with humans. Life happens in a flash. So many of Dareios' closest friends had passed away some time ago. The rest were merely business partners in one sense or another. They would last for a few decades before he'd have to replace them with a new, younger crop. The cycle of it all was, well, lonesome. Few people actually took the time to get to know him. Perhaps he too, had become jaded enough to forgo getting to know them as well. "Are you hungry? I'd be happy to whip you up something."
