i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

But the rest of the people did matter. The way others think will always matter. How they think will give you a better estimate on how they would treat you. Everyone was different and everyone simply couldn't be trusted. Perhaps it was an animal thing, maybe even her own species, she was meant to thrive in a society of her kind. It was important with her kind to know one's place and know the place of others, but more importantly how they achieved such a position. There was a reason why one was an Alpha, why one was a Beta, an Omega, or just another member in the pack. Everyone has a purpose and it was important to know what that was. In a pack it was imperative to know your relation to the other, and included how others saw you. It didn't matter if they saw you physically, mentally, or emotionally â€" there was a reason why one judged another, be it good or bad. If one member in a group did not like the other it could spread into resentment, false judgement, and end with mistrust and eventually grow into hatred. It was important to her how others thought of her. It was natural for her to care how others viewed her, because it meant she would be treated well or not at all. For an animal seeing someone scarred as much as her, our wounded, meant they were not strong, but weak. She did not appear healthy and she appeared as a weak link. In nature she would not be wanted. In the world of man her appearance would seal her as an outcast. She had already seen how cruel others could be and how very few could be fair. It mattered to her, as silly as it sounds â€" it mattered.

After trying on the clothes she patiently waited for Sam to try on her own. For a moment she leaned up against the wall across from her door listening as the blonde said it was her place. A frown slowly began to creep on her mauled face as she weighed the advantage is disadvantage of speaking her mind. She and her Alpha did not converse that much. Most of her time with him was in the Ark, doing the necessities that needed to be done within his office. Their time alone working on whatever assignments needed to be done was in comfortable silence, neither one asking the other with pleasant conversations. Raven honestly had no idea how to carry on a conversation with her Alpha, but she didn't feel a need to talk his ear off. She rather enjoyed the peace and quiet, observing him silently. There was little she knew about him, and she only knew what little Tobias would tell her. However, there were some things she noticed, they were subtle, but noticeable. Uncertain with how to go about it she waited for a moment, her fingers nervously wringing around the other in front of her. Looking down at the ground she hesitantly spoke.

"Has...he spoken to you about his past? Clothes...what you wear I mean it, it is just clothes it won't matter. You could dress in baggy clothes like me and he won't mind. He...he likes simple I think, he'll just be happy to have you around."

When Sam came out the girl simply stared a bit bewildered. It wasn't the clothes. They did not bother her at all. It was just how she walked out. Raven wasn't quite sure why she did the gesture with her arms and hands. Though she did smile and nod in approval with her attire. It looked very nice on her and very pretty, and the canine wasn't really sure what to say. She watched the girl stand in front of the three full length mirror watching her silently still a bit nervous with what she said earlier. Though when Sam spoke up about the plan the canine managed a small smile. She could recall a time when he wore a pretty watch on his wrist, but when the straps broke he placed it carefully somewhere within one of the locked desk drawers. She assumed he didn't want to lose the watch and he would buy a new wrist band, but she noticed after a few days he did no such thing. Perhaps this small item would be a worthwhile gift for her Alpha, and in a way, a constant reminder of Sam when they were not near one another.

"There's this watch he used to wear, but he hasn't lately. The wrist band of the watch broke I think...if you got a new one for him, he'll appreciate it. Plus, you get to choose the wrist band, give it a personal touch so he'll always think of you."

She managed a soft grin, her hand slowly reaching to grab the white gold spotted cat that always hung around her neck. Tobias had given her this particular necklace during their first Christmas together. It was the second gift she had received from him, first one being the fishing net he deemed her bed the first night they met. The fishing nets weren't meant to be a gift, but she saw it that way. She always wore her necklace and the purpose behind it, according to her companion, was so he could be there when he was not. She would shift her eyes to the ground uncertain if perhaps she should have kept her thoughts and idea to herself. Sam wanted to shop and perhaps another garment was in need to be searched for. With a shrug she looked back up at the woman speaking a bit quicker now.

"Oh and a jacket, if you want him to take a foot or paw out of the Ark during the winter months it's best to find him a decent jacket now...because he won't come out."
