i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

It was only once that fallen creature of the night had been so dispersed with that Alexander's blue-green gaze turned slowly towards the crowd he found himself surrounded by. It was with studious observations that the Dark Hunter so identified those that might have been deemed useful to his cause and yet, hardly a world left his lips as his gaze simply glanced over the crowd before him. Rather, it was the simple sound of those heavy footfalls from the ivory steed that drew his attention. He was aware of that press of Frost's presence upon his mind, those thoughts so filling his head with a peculiar sort of ease and yet, the words managed to do little then produce a slight frown upon his features. The Dark Hunter shook his head ever so slightly, his own thoughts quickly forming into something coherent and yet, without his own affinity, he simply was left to trust Frost would so pick upon those words and that only just forming plan that had crossed the forefront of his mind. "No, our mission is not to see to their lives, it's to destroy the coven. We will take as many as can stand with us into that battle. That alone will thin their numbers quite a bit and any left, we can consider what to do with then." It was a simple matter really, they could choose what to do with their own lives, who lived and died was dependent upon their abilities to fight, their determination to survive. It was perhaps that, giving his men the opportunity to craft their own destiny, which had made him so beloved in his youth.

The Dark Hunter reached up, his fingers lightly touching his neck only to pull away upon feeling that wet, sticky substance. A small frown crossed his lips at that crimson color that marred his hand. Great. Just great. A scowl crossed his lips, they always itched, those bites. It was quite akin to a spider, that venom so attempting to fill his system and yet, his own immune system too rushed to so counteract it. It was perhaps the one benefit to being the Hunter he was. Still, Alexander knew well the effect the simple scent of blood could have upon the undead. With that wound alone, he had become a walking beacon for the monstrosities that so roamed the labyrinth of these caves. Alexander made his way with purpose back to the side of his companion, rifling through those saddle bags for any hint of cloth that might help to bandage that bite mark and, in turn, reduce that wafering smell that so gave away his existence. Unfortunately, he had only just managed to pull that gauze from that bag before a sound of Russian so drew the steed, and in turn, his gaze. His lips pressed together ever so slightly in a small frown as the girl so abruptly rose from the other woman's grasp, literally running to her perceived safety.

A soft sigh so left the Dark Hunter's lips as the girl's ran, that Russian tone so lingering within the air. His head bobbed ever so slightly at Frost's insistence they retrieve the retreating figure, the King entirely content to simply leave his steed with the task of so hunting her down. Rather, he turned his attention towards the gauze as he pressed it against his wound, so approaching the screaming woman, "Shhh, quiet woman. You will bring them all down on us. He will see to her safe return, I promise." He uttered to her in Russian, his voice lacking the empathy he knew well that it should have held and yet, given the situation, Alexander found himself vastly less sensitive to her fear of losing whoever that woman was regardless of what she meant to her. A soft sigh left his lips when the woman failed to cease her screaming, the man kneeling down to brush his fingertips against her chin, so drawing her gaze towards him as he made an effort again to reassure her that Frost would see to her return. His own instincts in regards to the woman hardly reacted at all, though his eyebrows did furrow ever so slightly in suspicion as her darkly hued eyes turned towards him with a look that hardly mirrored the panic that had once laced her voice. She quieted nearly immediately, those antics ending as quickly as they had come.

He felt that abrupt invasion of Frost's mind upon his own, accompanied with that flarm of alarm and yet, those words hardly had enough time before the woman herself seemed to realize her guise was coming to an abrupt end. The Dark Hunter hardly had a moment to react before he felt those bony fingers so encircling the fabric of his shirt, her lips peeling back to reveal those fangs before Alexander found himself entirely airborne. He collided quite heavily into the wall, that impact so knocking the breath out of him as gravity took over and his body fell to the floor with a thud. Stars flashed across his vision, a soft groan so leaving his lips as he heard the sound of Frost's hooves so pedaling abruptly to a halt. God he was way too fucking old for this. For a single moment he simply laid there, rathering his wits and his strength before, slowly, he pressed himself upwards, those blue-green eyes so immediately seeking out the sight of his steed striking out against the woman that, quite simply disappeared. Damn her. That press of Frost's thoughts were entirely ignored as his own affinity finally flared to life. It was this very ability he had so kept from his companion, this one in which he was intending to utilize only as a last resort and yet, Alexander had been irked enough that such a power so wanted to be utilized. He needed to take his place again as that God of War. A mere Russian vampire was hardly going to be enough to so subdue the world's greatest Conqueror.

It was that feeling of defeat he so immediately squashed within that crowd, so bolstering their courage, their desire to escape, their will to fight. The crowd shifted around him, their backs somehow straightening, no longer cowering in the corners and the darkness despite how malnutrition the majority seemed to be. They fell into ranks soon after, prompted by a habit they hardly understood as the King himself so made his way between those perfectly straight columns towards the steed. And soon after, those weapons of silver, fire, and wood began to materialize in his wake, glistening in that low light. The odds might have been stacked against him, but Alexander was more than capable of simply making his army. "I could not blame you if you lose heart in spite of all you have endured. They have taken your lives, they have stolen you from the night from your family and friends, they have brought you here to live as cattle. But you are far more than that. You are filled with the life that they wish to steal from you. It is yours and you must reclaim it. Tonight, I ask you to fight for the greatest treasure of all - for life." Those old rallying speeches so effortlessly fell from the charismatic man's lips, the hurrah from his newfound troops so filling that cave and yet, he let their spirits run high as he lifted himself back onto the back of that ivory steed. "I believe we're ready to face them now." He commented simply, pressing those thoughts in Frost's mind alone.
