East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

there's something in the way

It had not been a decision easily made; in fact, Isolt had taken a period of several days after first receiving the phone call to acquiesce to the request of the would-be Mayor's entourage. It was one thing for Dareios to perch himself atop the pedestal of city politics as the race's premier openly-supernatural candidate, and yet it was quite another matter entirely for Isolt to place herself, her business, and her predominently-supernatural staff and clientele beneath the scrutiny of the public eye. The mortal slice of Sarcosanct's populace, though taking pride in their self-proclaimed "tolerance", was also known and proven to be of perpetually fickle resolve when faced head on with those of the supernatural community. Isolt herself had only recently begun to toy with the notion of publicly embracing her immortality, her newfound position within the coven dictating that at least some measure of transparency be afforded to the commonwealth. Even so, it had taken quite a bit of internal debate in order to allow the gala to come to fruition in this safe haven. In her safe haven.

The barest hint of a blush blooms readily upon the pallor of her cheeks at the caress of her guest's lips, Isolt seeming to constantly remind herself that most of the city's immortals were decades her elder and therefore prone to the subtle nuances that had served as the trademarks of their respective eras. She finds she appreciates the gesture all the more for its vintage nod to the simpler chivalries, a splendidly glowing simper blossoming upon the plush cushions of her lips as he draws himself away. More soothing still is the undeniably Irish lilt that rolls from his tongue to tease pleasantly at her ears, reminding Isolt of warmer memories trapped beyond the looking glass of a past life. "It's our pleasure," she cooes, moving aside so that Chizue might proffer up whatever introduction she desired.

"Of course," Isolt lilts with a subtle wink at his inquiry, though she was certain the details of her heritage were faultlessly apparent to both of them. Whatever banter she may have proffered up is stifled, though, with the arrival of yet another of Isolt's elders... a darkly beautiful woman who, though they had never formally been introduced, she was well aware of. "Thank you, Ceara. It is my hope that one day the two of you might join us; I know Elysium would certainly benefit from your patronage." It is a small thing, a polite invitation placed into the diplomatically neutral space betwixt them. And, unlike the tactics of many other groups, it is genuine. It is humble. She would leave it there, for tonight was not about Elysium nor was it about rebuilding and improving what Damon had only begun to erect... tonight was about Dareios and the epiphany of a supernatural leader. And so, studious as ever she was, Isolt turns her attention to the gentleman once more in anticipation of his answer.
