East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Nothing Can Stop Me

I really have nothing better to do with my life. I mean I don't really do anything for my pack. Claire was the one that cooked food for everyone and yet she was nowhere to be seen. Edie was off doing who knows what, but I know spends a bit more time with our Alpha. No one has really given me a task to do something for the pack so I just keep to myself. I wander around and just simply walk the city. I've done my time in some of the popular areas were fellow Weres enjoyed to hang out and there was much I learned, not just about my species, but also the one that is responsible for changing me. It is a shame I think of what I have heard and yet I have to make the decision if I would want to believe what I hear or not. I shall make that decision one day, but for now I am content to be far from him and the rest of the girls for tonight. I am quite sure I can manage on my own for the time being. I mean hell, I spent my entire time at a café and look what I got â€" a delicious home cooked meal and some company, with an historical figure I thought was long dead. Clearly karma is on my side tonight. His mention of his were-staff dropping like flies really peeked my interest though. I mean why would my kind leave him? He doesn't seem so bad, then again, he was a former conquer and maybe they just didn't work too well under his reign of the café. Who knows? Point is, he is offering me a place to work and if I decide to do, what I think I will end up doing, I'm going to need some sort of income before I can receive my inheritance, and some dignity without having to go back to my Great Uncle's house.

"I guess I could stay and help you, until they come back or if I haven't burned the place down."

Really anything could happen I guess. I mean I know how to use a dishwasher and I am sure an industrial one won't be too bad. Maybe I can move on up in the ranks and know how to work the machines to give customers, both kind and cranky, their tea or coffee. Although I have to admit my whole 'customer service' might need some work...I mean one cranky customer yell at me about their coffee, and I may just lose my nerve and yell back. Yes, I know, I shouldn't yell, but at the same time people should treat people with respect, be they behind the counter or not. That or I could smile all sweet and polite and spit in his coffee, serving my own form of unhygienic justice. He won't turn into a were-horse because of my salvia, right? If so, that would be a bit worrisome. Maybe it would be best to stick to the kitchens and wash the dishes where it is safe for me and others. I am fairly certain I can make any dirty dish look brand new when I am done with it. It is when Alex mentions the offer of being a war-horse that peeks my interest. I am quite interested indeed on this particular offer, but I am afraid I won't be that good for him. I am not experienced enough in being a horse, I mean I can barely change and shift on my own...I still need help. Even when I am a horse I have a bit of a difficult time with the whole running with four legs â€" you try it! It is the mention of Frost that shocks me and challenges me all in the same. That he knew Alex and was actually allowing him on his back was shocking. If Alex was the reason behind his disappearance and not being with the pack, then perhaps I have killed two birds with my decision. He needs to do more for his pack and not disappear and at the same time I need a place where I belong. I do not feel like I am necessary or wanted in my pack, but maybe I could be here. With a nod I accept his offer, but provide him a bit more information.

"I don't think I'm decent enough to be a horse, let alone a war horse, but it would be nice to do something that Frost cannot do. Frost is my Alpha, and I am surprised after all he tells me he would allow someone to ride him and treat him as a horse."
