East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i hear the footsteps inside of me
After his previous evening spent with Dorian, Malek was still feeling the pounding of his head. As an undead, he would have hoped that he would have been exempt from nasty hangovers, but apparently even an ancient, such as himself, would always be prone to hangovers. Growling at the absurdity of it all, Malek still finds himself wandering back to his favorite bar, taking up his usual seat and ordering his usual whiskey. It's the same bartender from last night and man recognizes the vampire instantly. Waving a hand at the man groggily he calls over, "You won't have to kick me out tonight, I won't be causing trouble. I only came for a couple of drinks, I'll be on my way shortly," his annoyed state seemed to have convinced the man and the keep slid a drink his way with nothing more than a warning glance.

Shrugging, he began working on the whiskey and only had a small sip when a gust of wind accompanied by an open door and a female voice asking for him specifically. Groaning inwardly, he doesn't turn around yet, it's only a matter of seconds before he realizes it's a fellow supernatural and a Dark Hunter at that. It had been an age since he had dealt with the hunter race, though he had, had his fair share of rather unpleasant experiences, he did have some fond memories as well. Slamming a wall down on his memories, he is suddenly thankful he wore his lengthy hair up in a man bun of sorts today.

Turning around lazily, he holds his drink in one hand and leans back with both elbows on the counter in such a casual way that the fellow patrons would just think it was a girlfriend coming to drag her boyfriend out of the bar by an ear. Plastering a dangerous smile on his face, he inspects her for a moment, tilting his head, she seemed rather young even for a Dark Hunter, "What can I help you with?" he purrs, raising the glass to his lips and taking a swig. Stifling his affinity as much as possible, he locks it away so that only the bare minimum is affecting the atmosphere.

The downfall with such a power, was when he couldn't turn it off he just managed to draw more hunters to him. Yes, he had met some rather formidable opponents in his long life and his power was just as much of a curse as a gift. So, as the tendrils of magic filter around him, he waits for her to notice the magic after entering the bar or for her to simply be attracted to him. Either or, Malek didn't particularly care. He merely wanted to get back to his drinking to stifle his power.
