East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

It was perhaps hardly peculiar that his blood flowing through her veins saw too those exceptions that surely existed between the pair. Alexander was aware, to some extent, that the young woman in front of him was altogether far more somber than her current demeanor, just as he too was well aware that the name he so fondly used was for but himself alone. It was, perhaps, solely due to the fashion in which the Macedonian King was altogether quite as similar as she, on this aspect. Such warm simpers were entirely reserved for Anastasia herself, his childe perhaps one of the few who knew of his true calling. It had been an altogether pleasant surprise to the conqueror when he so discovered her nature so align with his own. It was perhaps his worst fear, when it came to the transformation, what if that soul he made was but a bickering useless waste of his time? He was lucky, perhaps, that he had found her. Still, he found himself commenting just the same on her presence, hardly expecting the young Duchess to find him here in Sacrosanct of all places. There was so little here, even for himself, that to house both master and protege seemed....peculiar to the man. Something was amiss, though what he was not yet certain.

That quirk of her simper so seemed to fade at the sheer inquiry of what she was doing within his own town, that simple gesture all the more telling for the Dark Hunter and yet, he hardly thought to point it out. Now, there was clear there was something that she did not wish to say to him and it was perhaps those years that spanned with her at his side that saw him respect the young woman's privacy, at least to a degree. Instead, his blue-green gaze simply observed the way her slender features reached into that all too feminine peacoat, withdrawing in from it an unassuming piece of fabric. His eyebrow rose ever so slightly at the words that so accompanied this gift and yet, ever the less, his hand out stretched only to watch her carefully undo that delicate parcel she so seemed to treasure. His own blue-green eyes widened ever so slightly, those eyebrows raising before furrowing but seconds later. The presence of that small, demure box was altogether unexpected. Alexander knew that box. Hell, many people likely would have recognized it. It was painted in illustrious colors in history books around the world. That she had found it was altogether astonishing, though why she was giving it to him remained the ever elusive question.

"Anastasia...this is yours. You should keep it. I know they are but trinkets, trust me, I know. But they are important trinkets. Hell, I still have Bucephalus' bridle." His hand reached out to gingerly embrace the smaller ones of the Russian royalty. "This exists to remind you of your past. This should kept safe and close to your heart." There was no denying the King was wholly baffled by the actions of his protege, his own horde of 'useless' trinkets were protected at various sites across the world. That this one that likely meant far more than any other such item would be given to him either meant that the youthful Anastasia did not expect to live, or that whatever she was involved in was so dangerous that to keep it might see it's removal from her person. Which it was, any why she was involving herself in something wholly unsafe was but a mystery to the man, one which he was hoping to coax from her lips if only for his blatant refusal for that which was so meaningful for her.
