East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

It was only when he was quite assured that William would not somehow coax any of those women to so vacate the stage and offer any further attention to Dorian himself that the Fae is given to relax in any fashion, Dorian taking some measure of contentment from being at least a little away from the stage and with every opportunity to so keep his head turned away from those terrible, if not slightly intriguing, women. Why William so seemed to find delight in teasing him the King hardly knew and yet this too seemed a decidedly modern trait. Samantha herself also taking the odd delight in so watching him struggle with new devices before at last rendering her assistance. His attempts but two nights ago to command her laptop having resulted in nothing short of a fit of giggles and a girlish hysterics that had seen him all but throw his hands in the air at the ridiculous device that seemed to lack any ability to be commanded at all regardless of how many times the command key was initiated. Williams's assurance that the majority of the women upon the stage were Fae momentarily sees Dorian so angle his head back towards the girls. He had noticed several Fae amongst them, even with his own quick glance, one girl in particular seeming to have notably pointed ears. A trait that was evidently more subtle on these modern Fae then it was himself and yet it had hardly occurred to him that nearly all the women were his own species- the man having failed to pay such attention and yet truthfully he supposed such was the nature of the Hunter breed to be aware of such intricacies.

"Then I am not most Fae, it would seem."

He answers easily, this notion that most Fae hardly seemed to care about such idle fantasies as marriage or family surely incorrect and yet had Samantha not voiced as much as well? She carried on with her lover with no apparent desire to marry him, Samantha having failed to ever mention a desire for children by that same token. Truly the girl had not given nearly enough thought to who would carry on with her Monarchy should anything befall her, Samantha entirely content to laugh at him most days and yet, on some level, the man found it almost endearing. A simper of sorts so touching his lips at the thought before his attention falls to William once more.

"Either way I would not keep a single one of them in my court, carrying on like that."

He nods in assurance, as if to finalise such a decision before those drinks arrive- Dorian eyeing his own with a measured curiosity before it was pushed towards him. The Fae King moves to do just as William does, lifting his drink to his own lips, that sip perhaps, far too generous as a spluttering cough is so forced from within him at that all-too potent taste. The Hunter's words barely heard over his own momentary choking, Dorian taking several moments to gather his breath once more before eyeing that liquid with no small measure of disdain. Why was everything so decidedly strong these days? Did no one outside Sebastian simply appreciate pleasant wine? Dorian merely allowing his head to shake softly.

"Indeed I have quite a few questions for her actually. I am also far more used to wine then I am to this, I have never had this before, I do not dislike it- it is merely very....strong."

He finished at last, lifting that drink to his lips once more, this time taking a far more controlled sip of that drink, the strength of it burning at his throat still and yet this time it was with far less potency then before.

"Samantha. Her name is Samantha."

He offered but a moment later, silver gaze drifting to search that crowd for her yet again. Dorian entirely relieved to find her still absent from that stage, no part of the man believing he desired to see near so much of the woman he so adored before asking after William instead. After all, this city so seemed to attract the English, it was merely the women he seemed to do poorly in conversing with. Memories of Edie far too potent for his liking. This tale of Williams own arrival here however seems to readily attract the Fae's attention, head tilted slightly in inquisitiveness, the Fae having failed to consider the once human life the Hunter must surely have held. How pleasing though, to have found this friend!

"Fate means for us to find things sometimes- I think."

It is this mention of himself that sees the Monarch pause, Dorian so considering those words as he finishes the last of his drink, debating over just what to so offer the man before him when even Samantha did not know the full extent of that story.

"It was some of your kind, I fear. I had the misfortune of so having an altercation with a large group of them and I ended up in this city, in this country, quite against my will. Samantha found me and has been assisting me since and then I.....met someone. I have a reason to be here now, so I am."

He allows his own simper to touch his lips now, fingers taping lightly against that glass as he turns it within his hands.

"Do you work with the...how you say? Council, then? I have heard it called this."
