East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

There was little question within the decidedly ancient King that the hunter positioned in front of him was childishly impotent. That veil of obstinacy was exactly that - a facade that vanished with but a singular authoritative command and resulted in but an immature pout. A soft breath left his own lips at the continued demeanor the 'man' so proceeded to present him with. Alexander himself could hardly deny his patience was growing particular short with each glimpse of stuck out lip and every disgruntled syllable he was presented with. In his era, men younger than this William were warriors - hard edged and steadfast. They stood tall and proud, ready to best any circumstance he threw at them with an unwavering loyalty. If this was what the modern world now had to offer him, it was falling drastically short of any mentionable marks. Still, he was certain there had to be something of value to the man if Anastasia so risked his own agitation to bring the hunter here. It was on this cue that his own blue-green tinged gaze turned towards the young woman, entirely ignoring William's admittance to be good with a knife. Rather, wordlessly, his eyebrow rose, eying Anastasia with a look that seemed to demand what the hell she was thinking in so offering his assistance. As dangerous as William might be if caught, he was hardly worth even a sliver of the conqueror's time.

He was relieved, regardless, to hear that Anastasia's involvement with that very council that was at the heart of their very conversation was particularly minimal. He hardly wished to see the girl become ensnared by their devious ploys - plans which were often short sighted and hardly beneficial to the world at large. There was no denying that they would likely have an interest in the young woman not only for who she was but too her connection with him. It was not pride or arrogance that so laced his thoughts rather than simple fact. His head bobbed ever so slightly at the woman's words and yet, still, his gaze lingered with a sort of remaining incredulousness about the fellow she'd brought to him. Alexander listened with wordlessness as Anastasia so addressed her own irritation with the man, pointing out the simple provoking thought that perhaps William's own demeanor was contributing to his vulnerability to the council he so strove to avoid. Thankfully, she too felt fit to address the ridiculous notion that he was going to arrest the hunter.

His head shook ever so slightly, finally deciding to voice exactly why William had been brought here if only for the rather unlikely desire that perhaps some measure of the truth might finally see him shape up - even if it was just slightly. "I have very little affiliation with the council, boy." He stated, leaning back in his chair. "You see, Anastasia brought you here under the guise that I could help you. The council knows well to leave me and mine alone and I will offer them the same kindness - unfortunately, beyond the magnitude of your uncontrollable ability, I fail to see what value this arrangement might have. I trust he was not this childish with you - was he?" He inquired, his gaze flickering towards the Russian Duchess. Kindness was, unfortunately, rarely enough for the jaded Macedonian man. He had seen such altruism shredded and disregarded without even the slightest of thoughts or consideration - not to mention William seemed to have little interest in the offer he had so unintentionally stumbled upon. Powerful though the hunter had the potential to be, there was particularly little benefit to Alexander so wasting his efforts. "If you are that determined to be free of us, there is the door. No one is keeping you here." He uttered in conclusion, gesturing towards the entryway in which the pair had come from.
