East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Perhaps when I first met Isolt, I never would have fancied her a manager of a popular pub or leader of a vampire coven. Of course I've never put myself in those shoes either and yet I had both at one time. The pub was Isolt's dream. She once told me that she was homesick for Ireland and their culture and so I used my money and influence to bring her dreams to life. I remodeled Red on the Water, with her input of course, to look like that of an Irish pub. I changed hte menus to her liking so that it would remind her of home in any way possible. The look in her eyes when it was all done was well worth it.

The coven was really a boredom thing on my part. I've never coveted my own kind's company. I've always been more of a wanderer, a loner. Isolt was the first in many years to give me a reason to stick around and she was lonely. She wanted to know others of her kind, to understand them and give them something to come together for. I blame it on the bits of her humanity that still exist. And yet, here we are. I started a coven with Isolt and another vampire I met, Yumi. Yumi was shy and like Isolt, she yearned for company. I offered her sanctuary and a job at Red on the Water and there you have it, the not so thrilling start of a coven.

Look where Isolt has brought it in my absence. I heard rumors of a coven looking for someone like her so I left to find them, to put a stop to their plans. Isolt stepped up to the plate and took over the business and the coven. She has added more members and made Red on the Water the thriving place that it is now. I couldn't be more proud of the vampire I call girlfriend. The one I hope that someday I can call my fiance, wife, mate. She doesn't know that yet but she will in due time.

Just as I stood by as support for Isolt in the gathering of vampires she called together, so too will I be her support in this meeting of leaders. That is, if she asks me to stay. Even as she stands to greet the woman I'm letting into her office, I can read the redhead enough to know her surprise when she smells fairy blood. Of course that doesn't last long. As is her nature, Isolt is quick to flash a welcoming smile to Samantha. Her look is not missed as she gazes between the fairy and myself before greeting the queen and offering for her to come in.

Samantha is polite above all else. She is full of formalities as I give my name and kiss her hand, assuring me that she believes Isolt does an amazing job. She looks happy enough to go upstairs away from the noise and the relief is not lost on me when the loud voices of drunken vampires dies down. She thanks me as she walks into the office and I can see the awe in her eyes as she takes in my goddess. I smile knowingly, leaning back against he doorframe as I study their greeting for a moment, letting them shake hands and grow acquainted before I decipher if I am wanted here or not. She asks if Isolt has time to chat and my head tilts, a silent question to my girlfriend as to which side of the door I should be on as I close it for their private chat.
