East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The use of those foreign words saw my own eyes rise slightly. Whatever she said, it seemed to delight her all the same, her smile almost infectious as I felt my own lip quirk upward before she made some effort to explain the girl seeming almost thrilled about my own accomplishments. It was strange, I suppose, to hear someone so excited about the role I'd simply fallen into if only because, well, there had been no one there to do it. I had been eighteen, legally an adult and even though I'd never wanted it I'd just sort of tumbled into the role. I should have walked away, god knows the investors would rather I did. My version of 'working' not exactly in line with their own contemplation and yet really I was convinced they all needed to relax a little more. Besides, it's not like I ever missed a meeting, I just preferred to show up in my own time, or over skype- when I only needed to have the top half of myself dressed. I consider myself progressive. What's wrong with wanting to live a little? I've never had anyone seem so excited about my job all the same, a chuckle rising within my throat, Chizue almost refreshing really. She wasn't like the girls I usually spent my time with and yet I hardly minded.

"I'm glad you think so."

It was that decidedly honest rendition of just exactly how my life had changed since the Hunter incident that seemed to inspire the girl into some unusually emotionally action. She had taken me as the sort of girl to be this bold, at least, not with physical actions- her arms wrapping around me a moment later and yet it was hardly unappreciated, my own form relaxing into the embrace if only t reassure her all the same before she hurriedly pulled away with a look of embarrassment. Maybe she wasn't my usual type, but she was cute in an almost innocent sort of way. Maybe once I would have tried for something more from her, seen if I could convince her to come home with me but tonight, well, even I could settle for just friends and truly it seemed to delight the woman more than anything else. The blush that crept onto her cheeks hardly missed, my own features frowning if only ever so slightly in some effort to assure my power had hardly gotten out of control and somehow afflicted the woman. It had done it before and I had little desire to have it unleashed here and now in a bar full of people. An orgy wasn't exactly my plan for tonight, my attention returning to Chizue in full. I would have to make good on my promise to visit her now, not that I hadn't intended too. With Kat still away I seemed to have ample nights free and this was hardly the worst bar in the street, the patrons at this place at least a little braver then some of the others. No one was sitting next to me exactly, outside of Chizue, but they hadn't run away either. My rather useless Hunter Senses having failed to tell me the majority of them were vampires who probably already knew the chance of my hunting them was, well, limited at best.

"I'll come back tomorrow then, maybe we can work our way through this menu."

I grinned again, hardly opposed to having someone to eat dinner with every now and then before spending the night wandering aimlessly about as I'd taken to doing. After all, I still had a girlfriend, at least I think- so that meant I could hardly go about enjoying women quite as much as I used to and yet without Kat here I was left with decidedly little to occupy my time outside of work and even then, I can hardly do that all night now can I? It was her mention of credit cards that held my interest once more, my head tilting slightly, blue gold gaze meeting her own in a quizzical fashion at the notion of manipulating them. I'd never thought about it really and yet there was no reason why I couldn't, my mind so instantly assuming she was considering what I could do with money- not that I needed any more then I already had. Egotistical as that was to consider. Her assurance that it was hardly for money that she inquired saw my own features frown slightly once more, lip quirking at the idea of being more impressive then I currently was to any of the other Hunters. I suppose I'm always up for investigation of these things, although what on earth she had in mind I hardly knew.

"Sure, I don't see why not. I'll see this shop."

I had no idea what I was going to do in a shop that was going to be impressive and yet it hardly mattered really, it seemed to delight Chizue all the same and I hardly had pressing activities for tonight. My friendship however, clearly came with some level of perk as I decided to list off all I could bring to this newfound relationship. After all, money, planes and fast cars I had an abundance off and were things I hardly minded sharing. Well- maybe I wouldn't let her drive the car but I could still drive her somewhere if she ever needed. My hunting skills were never going to help anyone after all. I grinned easily as she checked off such things from her list, pausing to take another bite of the rather pleasing pie. I never would understand how they made this- Chizue mentioning an ability to sing a moment later, her gaze looking away at the mention. Was she shy about it?

"What type of singing do you do?"

There were types of singing right? It sounded like a legitimate question and I really was interested in what she did.

"Are you in a band?"
