East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

What's Going On

And I scream from the top of my lungs,

What's going on?!

The overhead lights sometimes caused me to experience a wave of anxiety, like a threat of danger looming above, far too similar to the sun for my liking. The crowd below was a great roar of both men and women screaming, their arms outstretched like they wanted to touch the hem of God's gown. God being me, of course. I stood in front of the microphone, which was currently placed in it's holder on a stand, my eyes staring at the crowd with a smirk like I knew a dark secret, and they could only let their imaginations play like wild heathens as to what that might be. My costume, as I referred to it, as I never came out without being dressed for success; even if I was a pretty basic bitch off stage. Was a brilliantly bright silver shirt with an open chest, it's sequins reflected off every light like a star. Below that was an exposed stomach and a black leather skirt that went down to my knees, spray painted onto it was the words "LOVE ME" in the front, and on the back in the same neon green paint, was "OR FUCK OFF". Cause I am 100% class. And to top off the look, I had no shoes on, I liked to perform barefooted, and don't look at me for an explanation, I don't even know why.

The night had carried on for awhile, my body was exhausted, my hunger peaking into a mood like one of those bitchy football players on the commercials, I was in full Betty White right now. I glanced in the direction of Sylas as I pressed the microphone to my lips, breathing hard and casting him a knowing stare down, his own eyes my direction. Performing together was basically sex, not going to lie. Though, on this stage I was a total whore, I lived for every scream and worshipping face. I loved getting close to the stage and letting them get close to touching me, and then backing off and watching them want to climb up. You're thinking, daaaamn I'm a self involved little asshat, well..you wouldn't be entirely wrong, but there was Len on the stage, and Len off the stage, and the differences were vast. My attention from the adoration wavered as I saw a woman being taken back stage, I knew why..I knew at whose request, but I hadn't noticed him eyeing her. I tried to snag a few details as she disappeared, but I couldn't distinguish anything interesting, so I flipped around while singing, winked at Sylas really fast, and then dropped to my knees in a dramatic last note.

Getting back to my feet with an agile hop, I threw my arms in the air and screamed at the crowd with a little giggle at the end, cause I was feeling damn fine. The stage hands ran to their posts, taking my mic and Sylas' guitar, which he seemed hasty to remove and as he grasped my waist, I leaned into him without resistance, his breath was hot as he spoke and I simply nodded, not responding to him but rather letting him go on his way. He seemed a bit over the top tonight, so I figured I'd get the autographs done fast and join him. A few people cat called as Sylas kissed my cheek, a sort of reaction I was use to, they had a somewhat overly zealous fascination in our relationship that bordered on fanaticism at times, it annoyed me some days...and made me go wild with delight other days. Today, it annoyed me, a few cheer squad looking bitches were making heart symbols with LOVE IS LOVE on their hands, and I rolled my eyes and went the other direction.

Walking back to our room, I was holding a raspberry lemonade with a fresh lemon floating in it, and a big red straw which I was chewing on absentmindedly as I neared the door. My hands were covered in blue marker from signing papers, asses, tits, and whatever weird shit they wanted signed. With a dramatic sigh, I swung the door open with an obnoxious "HELLOOO" Which was cut short with a sort of choking sound like someone had kung fu kicked me in the abs. I stood in the doorway, my blue eyes widening and I stared first at the glass shard in Sylas' face, and down at the maimed body of the woman. I don't know how long I stood there before stepping in and closing the door behind me, one hand never leaving the doorknob in a white knuckle grip. I fell back against the door and pressed my glass against my chest like I was hugging it. "No. You fucking. Didn't." Does that count as denial, rage, and grief all in one stupid sentence? After I finished speaking, a soft click could be heard over the heavy breathing, as I locked the door behind me. Finally releasing the door, I walked to the counter and put my glass down, walking sideways like I was afraid to take my eyes off the scene. "HOW. WE'RE FUCKED." I squeaked the words out in a groan and knelt down by the woman's head, staring at her wounds with a gaping mouth. I could see she was clearly dead, blood was everywhere, and her stomach was partially opened up. I wasn't known to have a weak stomach, but having gotten closer, I lost my shit. Crawling quickly to a small trash can under the counter, I crammed myself into the corner underneath and threw up in the can.
