East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Human.

He should have known by the way her weak heart flutters at the mere sight of him. Careful little thing, too much and you might have a heart attack. His plush lips smirk subtly under the hair that grows there. Her bravery is fleeting, slim body moving forward beside him to peer over the edge only to fly back a couple of steps. Humans. A hand runs through his tussled hair, gaze never leaving the ant people below. How different they all are, living their day to day lives oblivious of the fact the others exist. How pathetic it all was, the complaints about issues that are so irrelevant and so minute compared to the lifestyle he lives. The voices peek inside his conscious, threatening to spill over and send him on yet another tangent. To show them just how real the world truly is and give them something to truly cry about.

Her voice is what awakens him from his slight rage.

He perks up at this, his head half turning to fixate a cold gaze upon her small form. His all consumed mind just now registers what exactly she says and his rumbling chuckle is immediate. Such a strange thing to see from the viking king. His lips are parted, scarred face shifting from a malicious sight to one of delight. His head shakes, a sigh escaping him after his fit of chuckles dies down. Would a fall like this even kill him? "where's the fun in that?" his gruff baritones inquire, fingers rubbing his eyes in a usual way as he snorts, turning from her to look past the ants and to the beautiful dark sky. He breathes for a moment, the voices willing him to do things he was too tired to do. He needed a distraction.

"come, sit here," he says simply, hand patting the ledge next to him. Once again he turns to her, his cold gaze meeting her eyes. "don't worry, I won't let you fall," massive hand lifts, palm up to help her if she should choose to join him. Who knows though, humans have these irrational fears brought to them by the fact that they have this one life, so fragile it doesn't take much to end it. The viking would be surprised if she accepted his offer.
