East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

you could rattle the stars.
you could do anything,
if only you dared

She snorts at his comment about being a demented soul, her glass raising to her lips as she takes a swig of that amber liquid. "Aren't we all a bit demented," she comments with a brief flick of her hand. And wasn't it true? The assassin found that those she surrounded herself with had a bit of an irrational side, it wasn't worth living without it. After she summons the bartender to refill his beer, she gives him a brief glance and a nod in return. As he holds it up, she deftly clinks her own glass against his, a wild smile tugging at the corner of her lips. Perhaps tonight wouldn't be a waste, at least she got a drink and a show.

As he begins to brush at his wet clothes, she simply gives him a devilish grin, her shoulders raising in a simple shrug, "Much," she purrs at him before returning to her own drink, finishing it off quickly before setting the empty class on the bar. It was only a moment before the bartender returned, asking if she wanted another, which she nods in response. And then she's snorting in amusement at his impersonation of the girl, "I think I liked the name Veronica better," she laughs, amusement dancing in those blue eyes of hers.

As their conversation moves on, Vhalla simply flicks her brows up in delight at the man. He was sassy, perhaps a bit of verbal word play was just what she needed tonight. She might have replied with a witty comment until he's asking about the scars on her hand. Those icy eyes move down to trace the scars along her right hand, debating briefly on what she would tell him. It doesn't take her long to decide she will answer him truthfully, she doubted very much he was the type to shy away from bluntness.

So, the assassin sets her new drink down, holding out her right hand for him to inspect as she explains, "I used a brick to break this hand so I could learn to fight just as good with my left hand," she gestures to the multitude of small scars along the back of it, "I was lucky I didn't cause any lasting damage," she shrugs nonchalantly. What she did leave out was that it wasn't her choice to break her hand, her master has ordered it and as she was bound to him she had to obey. Withdrawing her right hand, she presents him with her left hand, "This one I slammed in a door to slip off a pair of handcuffs. Unfortunately, I have lasting nerve damage and can't feel hardly anything in it anymore," she closes her hand into a fist as if it made her point, though she doesn't go into more detail about the story, it's clear that she wasn't going to offer any more information.

"Your turn," she smiles gleefully at him, as she lifts that amber liquid back to her lips, sipping on it much more slowly. She didn't particularly care to be drunk in front of this man.
