East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He liked this change in Yumi, this excitement for life that she seemed to have developed when she fed off that man. It made her much more fun in his opinion. She was so shy and awkward most of the time and she couldn't be convinced of what others see when they look at her. She also had a stubborn streak, it would seem. But tonight she was alive and eager to have some unbridled fun. Tonight, she was sexy and confident and wanting to make unforgettable memories and he would be all too happy to share in that with her. She smiled happily when he admitted that they would have enough people for a band, though he couldn't remember the last time he took part in anything so utterly "human" as playing a video game. He was mortal well before the start of technology so when it sprung up, he only tampered with it long enough to understand how it works so that he was assured it could never be used against him. And then he wandered off to do something else.

At least if he got too bored, he could always mess with the electricity a little, make it a little more interesting. She laughed at his tease about having the voice of an angel and he didn't take offense in the slightest. It was all one big game tonight and as long as she was having fun, he was having fun too. She started getting a little flirtacious and he played along, if only to pry a little into her knowledge of this Malek character and how he would feel about it. She wrinkled her nose though and told him that he probably wouldn't be jealous and that he was really old and probably had a girlfriend. All he got from that was that she was interested in the man but her newfound confidence tonight wasn't quite enough to assure her that there was a chance between them two. He would have to work on that if Malek showed up tonight. Yumi deserved happiness if nothing else. He didn't care at all that the guy might be hundreds of years old. It's not like he hadn't come up against worse odds.

"Well, a girlfriend means you're still open for other options. We shall have to see how open minded he is tonight."

He gave her a teasing wink, fully convinced that he could fish the other man's brain a little and see if there was any fireworks between him and Yumi. Surely he could "persuade" him otherwise, even if there weren't. Damon was never against bending the rules a little for a friend. He watched her brief phone conversation with the other vampire before she all but hung up on him and then her attention was immediately elsewhere, demanding a piggy back ride. If she were a guy, he would never agree but since it was Yumi and she was definitely not a guy, he agreed to a little humiliation, if only to see that simper on her face. She crawled up, her arms encircling his neck as he made his way to Red on the Water. It wasn't like she weighed even an ounce in his opinion anyway. She was light as air. Of course once she saw the tavern, she leapt off his back and practically raced to the doors. His eyes lit up as she made her way through the crowds within until she slipped through the employee's only section. That must be where Isolt is. He greeted regulars as he went, doing the polite hostess thing sine most of them knew him and it would seem rude otherwise. He only did this kind of stuff for Isolt. Usually he wouldn't give a damn about being rude.

Ah, but the many ways she had changed him. He came through the doors right as Yumi was pouncing at Isolt, telling her that she was not working and even asking about a wrinkle. He tilted his head, leaning against the doorframe with his arms crossed leisurely as he took in his fiance as if for the first time in days. She was simply perfect every time he saw her and he couldn't help but drink her in, from her toes to her angelic features, he couldn't get enough. His eyes darkened with desire almost immediately, even wishing for the moment that they were truly alone and he was sure he could make a good use of that table she was working in front of. But alas, alone time would have to wait because Yumi was turning toward him now, telling him to kidnap her. He chuckled, his eyes lighting up as Isolt tried to take in the situation. She was thrown by Yumi's new attitude, he could tell, but the moment her gaze swept to him, he felt breathless. He watched as her features changed, her blue eyes sweeping from him to Yumi again and something clicked in her mind because soon a simper crossed her lips and then she asked where they were taking her.

He smirked, straightening up from the doorframe.

"Not very far, I assure you. In fact, you stay right there for a moment."

Turning, he swept back out the doors and into the main pub area. He knew calling for attention wouldn't do any good in the loud atmosphere so instead he made a show of making the lights flicker until every eye turned to him in question.

"Now that I have your attention, I regret to inform you that Red on the Water is closed for business for the rest of tonight. I apologize for the inconvenience but you were growing quite dull with tonight's activities anyway so you're going to mosey on out into the world and enjoy the nightlife in all the best ways until it comes that time to venture out of the oncoming sun. You will return even happier for your moonlit trekking tomorrow night feeling refreshed and ready for more drinks and food from your favorite pub."

He had rarely ever had to use his persuasion technique on such a large crowd but found that as long as he had undivided attention, he could for the most part still send out waves of cooperation throughout the entire room, even without holding complete eye contact. It seemed to work fairly well as the customers slowly got up from their seats, talking about the beauty of the night and how they wanted to explore it for some weird reason. Some looked a little befuddled but for the most part, he called it a success. He saw them all leaving their tips and paying their waiters as they left and this satisfied him. Now Isolt couldn't complain about missing business. He turned his attention to the wait and bartending staff now.

"You will get your full night's paychecks tomorrow. You did a good job tonight and you can go out and enjoy the night too. We're catering a personal event and we've got it handled. Thank you."

He didn't waste his energy on persusasion this time since he knew most of the younger wait staff would be more than happy to go out and do something else as long as they were assured of that money they so craved. He didn't see one unsatisfied face in the crowd as they headed out with the rest of the patrons, his attention now diverting to the two women behind him. He turned to Yumi.

"Now that we have the place to ourselves....what did you have in mind first? You are the mastermind, after all."
