East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Azrael

Only Fools Walk Where Angels Fear To Tread

The Hunter's gaze drifted away from that small crowd of people and those supple dancers and back towards the woman as his side as that soft chuckle fell from her lips. The sound was almost sweet, he supposed and yet Azrael rarely cared to consider the pleasant traits of others in any sense, the man far more intrigued in what she had to say. The girl appearing friendly enough or at least in possession of a decent nature, something rare among the Hunter breed, Azrael almost content to smile in amusement at the thought itself. The irony of his own less then, well, friendly demeanour was hardly lost upon him. The woman released her hold on her glass only to tug her bike helmet closer as if she suspected he might pilfer it before declaring herself new to the city. That explained why he hadn't seen her before, or in the very least, read something about her in those near meticulous records the Council kept on its Hunters and supernaturals in general. It was that simple desire to know just where she stood however that perhaps prompted that almost personal question, the blonde inquiring as to whether or not she had come to this city with the idea of joining the Council in mind or she was merely ones of those rouges so assured she could make it alone by playing vigilante or whatever nonsense it was those beings got up too.

That look of something akin to surprise upon her features merely saw a single eye rise upward once more, Azrael half-assured she was simply having him on with some claim she hardly knew about the council, the girl dropping her gaze to wave that refill away and fiddle with the strap of her backpack/ It was almost effortless, the way his affinity reached silently for her, his power employed silently and efficiently to detect the truth in her words. Azrael one of those few beings so granted with that ability to know when he was being lied to and this woman, quite simply, was not lying. It was his own turn to look momentarily surprised then, the man giving away nothing of that power he had employed as his fingers tapped a moment on that bar. Maybe she was a young Hunter, one newly made and yet one so young was unlikely to be without a Mentor present. Hmm, maybe the girl was more interesting than he had anticipated. A soft sigh falling from his lips all the same at so having to explain what he was sure she should already know and yet he never had been the patient type. This was surely why he had never bothered to create another- it seemed as if it took effort and more than that, no part of him was willing to damn someone else to this....life.

"This is a large city, there is a heavy population of Supernaturals here, the Overseeing Council is a Hunter-run organisation we.....keep the peace, so to speak and remove those supernaturals who pose to great a threat to human life. Not every Hunter in this city works for us though, there are some who choose to Hunt alone or, for reasons I won't ever understand, choose not to hunt at all and deny their nature."

His own shoulders lifted in a shrug of sorts, rouge hunters were hardly the enemy he supposed. Not when Were and Vampire and Fae and all other manner of things existed and yet why they chose to Hunt alone he might never truly know. Azrael choosing to ignore his own lingering doubts that lay nestled somewhere deep within the man as to just what his own purpose was in this existence. His golden gaze meeting the woman's own again.

"Azrael, Az, if you prefer."

He held his hand out in the same moment in that traditional greeting, the man hardly seeing need to give her his full name or indeed even his first name when he never used it, at least, not anymore. His hand withdrew a moment later to rest back atop that bar top, those dances still gyrating all over the stage in a manner he hardly cared to look at. The man debating on that question that lingered upon his lips, the topic of Mentors often a decidedly....touchy subject among his own kind. At least, it had been for most Hunters he had known, himself included.

"You seem young to be alone, at least, I haven't met a Hunter yet who doesn't know about the council. Didn't your Mentor, your Maker, whatever you want to call them- teach you any of this?"
