East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Arlo James

See what it's like to be a vulture's lunch

He was being greedy. He knew he was. He didn't need two girls and yet the idea that the other vampire woman might start shouting or causing a scene or even try and take that meal off him was enough to prompt Arlo into action. The man seizing her within a matter of seconds before returning to Damon's side with both women strewn across him and fully under that sway off the chemicals within his venom. The taste of the blood was divine, Arlo hardly having realised he was quite this hungry. Maybe he hadn't been, at least, not until Damon had stared feeding and the taste of that blood had hit his own tongue in turn. Hunger it seemed, for a vampire, was never fully sated- or at least it had a way of flaring any time that opportunity presented itself. Could a vampire ever truly be full? Maybe he'd have to ask. Was he going to be sorta hungry forever and ever? That sudden question about instinct saw the boy glance away from his dual meal, those bright blue eyes meeting Damon's own then. He'd never thought of it before, at least, not really. Maybe that was the very definition of acting on instinct.

"I guess it is. I mean I try not too, I try not to be so.....hungry, but I get a bit....er.....cranky when im feeding and other vampires are around. I dunno if that's a vampire thing or that's just me. It just happens."

Alright, so maybe he had a tiny bit of unresolved food aggression issues. Arlo considering for the first time that he sounded almost like a puppy worried someone might take his bone. The sudden approach of that serving girl seeing the younger vampire sit more upright and at least make some effort to position his rather high victims in some fashion that made them look less, well, victimised for a start. Was he going to get in trouble for this? Then again, it didn't seem like Damon got in trouble for much....ever. Either that or people were to afraid of him to tell him off. He could see that. Damon had a real Alpha-type thing going. A part of Arlo almost inclined to simply....follow that natural, well, leader-ness he seemed to have. That assurance he could order anything he wanted momentarily seemed to catch the boy off guard. Arlo glancing towards Damon and that expectant girl again before simply ordering the same thing. How often was he going to get the chance to get real alcohol? The good stuff. The kid they used to let him have before the whole vampire nightmare and that band had stood on the cusp of the Big Time. A simper tugging at his own lip slightly at Damon's query.

"Don't worry, bud. With the shit I used to be in too? It takes a fair bit to knock me. Reckon I can handle it."

He offered the other vampire that easy, lopsided grin before returning his attention to those girls then, the heart rate within that one in his lap having slowed down far too much, her blood hardly coming as freely as it had before. It hardly took much to summon that touch of his own electrical energy, sending that jolt of electricity through her figure and forcing her heart to beat once more. That blood flow easily increased as Arlo fed just a little more before at last leaning away. Any more and he was going to do some damage to her. Then he'd feel guilty about it all night- and probably tomorrow too. It would ruin the whole weekend. Better he stopped now. That meal affording him a far better level of control. Arlo making some effort to explain the older the vampire was the better the blood usually tasted with a few exceptional individuals in-between. The sudden arrival of that drink saw Arlo reach for it almost eagerly, the boy downing half that drink in nearly a mouthful, that burning taste stronger then he had anticipated and yet- that was a pretty good taste! Maybe he liked expensive Bourbon. Was there more of this? How much was he allowed to have? Any further queries on the alcohol were forgotten in the wake of his own question on just why Damon had used his own blood on the girls neck, his gaze falling onto the woman near Damon as he gently lifted her hair away to show that fully healed neck. Arlo's gaze widening in clear surprise.

"Wow. Man, you know things. How did you....learn all this? Will it work on the vampire girls too?"

That Arlo was quite clearly impressed was surely evident. The young man content to wonder exactly what Damon did in response to his own blood. Would it still heal like Damon's did even though he wasn't the same sort of vampire? He certainly healed fast himself, but would anyone else? Arlo glanced almost briefly around then if only to make sure no one was staring directly at him before doing just as he had seen Damon do and lift his wrist to his own mouth, his fangs piercing that skin, his own venom failing to work on him resulting in that simple frown at that sharp sting his teeth caused. His own blood welled readily to the surface then, Arlo brushing his fingers through it before leaning over to dab it gently onto that vampire woman's neck. That blood seemed to sit for a moment before that skin beneath readily begun to close, those wounds rapidly healing to leave the woman's neck almost unmarked.

"Ha! It does! At least....it works on vampires. I'll have to remember that. I wonder if it would work on a human. Do you know any other tricks like this?"

That Damon could likely not put two hundred or so years of knowledge into ten helpful hints for Arlo in five minutes had hardly occurred to him, Arlo having relaxed near entirely in the man's company at last to simply allow that almost boyish nature to return. Damon mentioning that red-haired woman then, Arlo's lip quirking again.

"Guess I'd stay in too if I had a girl like that. Maybe if I ever get any money you can tell me what I should invest it in. I'm not great with the money, well, I'm great at spending it."

That soft chuckle left his lips all the same, Arlo more than willing to admit his own 'problem' when it came to money. His love of gambling surely having something to do with it. Maybe he wouldn't mention that part. He reached for that drink again, sipping on it once more, savouring that taste. How good it would be to be able to have something this nice every night!

"Hey, bud? I gotta ask something. How come you decided to, well, take me out rather than just beat me up for biting your guy?"
