East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Ain't life just awful strange

a new world hangs outside the window
beautiful and strange
it must be I've fallen awake
I must be

Gia Jones attempted to fish her keys out of her skin-tight denim pocket with futile results. Her fumbling fingertips showed that even though her overall condition was improving, she was not operating at full strength just yet. However, her thoughts were mostly clear. The dark hunter could register that she was nearly home, and that came with a profound sense of relief. She could feel her heart creeping into her throat again, and tried her best to shake those uncomfortable feelings of vulnerability away before she made a fool of herself again in front of Sebastian. She shrugged her shoulders in defeat, letting her arms and hands go limp as they slapped against her sides as she tried to maintain his stare.

She leaned against the facade of her small home while she waited for the vampire to perform the what she hoped were the last simple tasks she wasn't capable of doing herself tonight. The damp, cool dew against the siding of the structure felt cool against her face. For a second she dreamed of falling onto her plain mattress and curling up to sleep with her cat. She thought she could hear her orange feline groaning its meows from behind the door.

Buffy wished for nothing more than the ability to forget this night ever happened. She knew she was lucky that Sebastian found her when he did. It was difficult to process what this meant, and trying to comprehend the vampire's display of kindness tonight hurt her head. Dew on her house and how it coated the grass that made up her unkempt lawn signaled that night was nearly over. Soon the sun would rise, which meant Sebastian's evening would be ending soon, too. As the vampire managed to crack open the door of her home, Buffy sighed a heavy, hearty growl of relief and trudged delicately through the door. She didn't wait for Sebastian before falling face first onto her bed, curling into the fetal position and tugging at the blankets and sheets to wrap them around her body. Her coat was still on, as were her boots. But alas, she was home.

The cat, scurried away from the door immediately, jumping up to the seat of a barstool --- besides the bed and a ratty couch, it was the only other piece of furniture she had inside the cramped studio apartment -- and hissed angrily at Sebastian. "Shush Mikey." Gia barked, raising a hand into the air, only to let it come crashing back down onto the mattress. She watched the vampire with one eye, the other hidden by her pillow. Surprisingly, she could see him with much more clarity this way. "Hey." She said in his direction, not bothering to lift her face from the sheets. "Truce?"
