East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

aiden tetradore

Tetradore could hardly help that snort that left his nose at the newfound knowledge that the carrot on top of that carrot cupcake was the only bit of chocolate in the entire dessert. Whomever the baker was certainly had a sense of humor that he could appreciate. Slowly, he reached out to pluck from the man's hand that offered cupcake, the were entirely content to sniff it before he opened his mouth. That rather abrupt foreign language, however, saw him stop near immediately. His emerald eyes shifted to his companion as Frost reached forward to place a piece of...was that parsley? It was a curious addition to a sweet, one he was certainly dubious of. For a moment, his gaze shifted from cupcake to the Alpha across from him and back again, as if considering whether or not taking that parsley off might somehow slight his companion already. In the end, he decided against it, after all, if Frost made him wait just for this single garnish, then it clearly must be of some great importance. A small shrug crossed his shoulder before he bit down on that cupcake, Tetradore entirely willing to savor that bizarre collision of flavors within his mouth. He swallowed, easily taking another bit of that cupcake till his designated half was gone. It was only once he'd finished it that he offered his companion his judgement on it, the man admitting that the frosting upon it was nothing short of heavenly.

He was altogether content to lick that bit of icing off his fingers, all the while listening to Frost's acceptance to at least hear out that offer that Tetradore intended to propose. He was rather certain that Frost would say yes, after all, he had little to use in that intended bargain while Tetradore had little promises of any follow through other then utmost faith. It was surely a terrible decision and yet, when he had no options, a terrible chance was still a chance. That comment of the liquor, however, brought a soft mutter to his lips that the alcohol was more for him then it was for buttering up his companion, after all, Tetradore had never truly admitted to anyone what he intended to voice tonight, even if he was certain he was going to be met with little more than cold apathy. Either way, the were-King rose from that table, following his companion out of that cafe before leading the way to that Bugatti that awaited them. That appreciation of the vehicle, although altogether restrained, was met with a small nod of acceptance before Tetradore settled into that leather seat.

The vehicle slid away from that curb, merging easily into traffic as Tetradore took those roads that led them out of town and into that vast countryside. There was something about that wilderness that surrounded them, the open roads before them, and that speed of that vehicle that put the man at ease. It was as if he was capable of simply running away from those problems, of leaving behind everything that Sacrosanct had come to mean to him - both the good and the bad. Tetradore was wholly content to simply continue that route in silence, neither men, it seemed, were very prone to small talk in any facet. In fact, it was quite a ways into that very journey that the silence was finally broken by his companion, prompting a fleeting glimpse from Tetradore himself. A soft chuckle left his lips before the panther shook his head. "Somehow, I don't think your that easy to get rid of." He responded, a trace of a simper across those usually stoic features. "We're nearly there." He added as an afterthought. It was exactly ten minutes later that that sports car turned off that main road, that smaller path far more overgrown and clearly not meant for the sort of wealthy vehicle that he'd taken for their trip. Thankfully, it was hardly much further into that off roading that Tetradore finally brought that car to a stop.

It was with the beer in tow that Tetradore stepped out of that vehicle, moving to sit on the front hood. He offered a bottle of that alcohol to his companion before fetching one for himself, that lid easily discarded of. A hearty sip was taken as his emerald eyes slowly traced the remains of what had once been his home. It took a moment before the were-King could voice exactly what this place was, that point look Frost offered him surely encouraging him onwards. The man at his side truly had no idea how difficult being back here was...not that Tetradore had any intention of showing him either. It was curious, that he had taken perhaps the least empathetic individual he knew to that origin of all that had gone so wrong in his life and yet....this was a necessity, he was sure. His gaze slowly shifted towards Frost, as if watching the man to see if he understood exactly what he was being shown. He was hardly surprised by that stare he was given, and even less by those callous words he was offered. A soft breath left his lips before the man took a sip of that beer, his gaze slowly turned back towards those charred remains of a place he'd cared so deeply for. "I did. I need you to understand exactly what you're going to be up against if you accept my offer." He responded, that purpose so clearly stated if only for the hope that it might satisfy his companion to hear the rest of that story.

"We weren't a small pack, Frost. Or a week one. There was about a hundred of us here. My aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents....friends." His head shook ever so slightly, those memories so easily rising to the surface, as unwanted as they were. "The fire killed everyone. Nadya was rescued by our sister pack. They were about twenty miles that way." He gestured loosely to north of that place they stood. "Tobias ran off into the forest. I...I watched my father be murdered and my mother burn to death and then she took me." Those screams had haunted the boy for years. Though those nightmares of that event had certainly lessened in frequency, there were still nights he woke up in a cold sweat, even to this day. Tetradore cleared his throat, continuing on all the same. "A single vampire and her lackeys did all of this. She was my mistress for the last...what, twenty one years?" Tetradore shrugged, unable to truly account for just how long he had spent at Risque's side. "She has the unique ability to control my cat...any cat." Those words were spoken quite purposefully, the man determined to ensure Frost knew exactly who and what were at risk with Risque's continued survival. "So, while Nadya was off living a normal life I was....not." How did one speak of that physical torture? Of that mental anguish? Of how she has broken him? Of the rape? How did he explain any of what she had done to him, of what he had been through? He was silent for a moment, as if considering just how detailed he wanted to be, only to gloss over those things he surely could not speak of entirely. Frankly, he doubted it even mattered. "Point is, I thought she was dead and it turns out she's not. She knows about Nadya and her children and Tobias and my pack. For as long as she's alive, she'll use them as leverage against me but, if she's dead she claims to have fail safes in place to take them out too. And that...is where you come in." His gaze turned towards Frost, the man almost pensive as he watched his companion, as if considering that offer one final time before it was truly voiced.

"I know Nadya thinks the worst of me but...I do care for her wellbeing. I want to make sure she's safe. But not just her. So...if I die Frost, I mean...really die trying to kill her, I'm willing to name you my heir. You'd get everything. The pack, the cars, the money, the businesses...all of it. But you'd have to keep them safe when I'm gone. Of course there's a bit more details to work out but....that's the gist of it." And there it was, that fail safe of his own. Frost was the only individual he could trust to be possessive enough of Tetradore's things to ensure their longevity, no matter what happened to the panther himself. Frost could take everything he'd ever wanted from him, and in return, Tetradore could have the only thing he ever really needed - the peace of mind that they would all be okay after he was gone. After all, he'd never truly believed he'd be blessed with a long life but there was no reason they had to go down with him.
