East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

He took comfort from the fact that she seemed casual around him, like she felt safe. Despite the chaos she had been through and all the stress she was probably feeling even now with all the stuff about evil powers and a whole coven greedy for her power, she still seemed so full of life and hope. He drew from it in his own way too. He could tell she was attracted to him and yet at this point, it only seemed to be innocent flirtation, at least on her part. What would she do if he ever made a move? Would she reject him? He had to wonder. Vampires and witches have had relations in the past though most of the time the witch turned evil trying to fight mortality for more time with the vampire. It usually always ended badly for both. But she was neither greedy nor evil. Of course, even the most pure of souls can be tainted by desperation. Or would she keep him at arm's length because of her mortality? He didn't think she would consider herself better than him. She wasn't the type.

Maybe she was an old fashioned romantic, looking for a life long partner to settle down and have kids with. He could never give that to someone. So maybe it was selfish of him to keep pursuing her but he couldn't help himself. He loved the way they could banter like it was natural, like they'd known each other for ages. She gave him glowering looks but he caught the heat in her gaze when she thought he wasn't looking. As he stepped out on the porch, he thought her concern for his wellbeing was just adorable. But it was anything but adorable in the way she brushed the hair back from his eyes, like it was second nature, something she'd done before. And the lightest contact of her fingers had him coming alive in places he hadn't felt alive in years. He was sure she noticed the instant change in his gaze, the sudden intensity because her heartrate picked up and he watched the movement of her slender neck as she swallowed. What a beautiful neck.

Then she leaned in to kiss his cheek as if to add insult to injury and it was all he could do not to haul her into the bedroom and fuck her into next week. But while he might be like with other women, he couldn't with her. She was too delicate, too important. And she had been through a lot. He couldn't add more trauma into her life, not when she was just starting to feel safe again. Baby steps. He could do that. He had all the time in the world, right? She teased him some more about his age, saying that walking would help his joints. He chuckled, shaking his head as he fell into step with her. "I'll see if I can keep up. Don't let me slow you down." He smirked, easily keeping pace with her, his long lean legs eating up the strides. He knew she heard his comment about tricks, her cheeks flushing in that appealing way as she giggled and bit her lip, his gaze dropping to those sensual lips for a beat before he answered her about walking in the daylight and she gave him such a look of curiosity that he couldn't help but draw his gaze back up to meet her own.

Her blunt comment caught him off guard and he searched her face for a minute as if looking for the punch line before he shook his head and swallowed before speaking softly. "There's nothing special about me, I assure you. I just got lucky in the gene pool, is all." The subject was then changed to their destination and she was willing to share, telling him there was a witch shop in the north she wanted to visit. He nodded. "Sounds like a start." He didn't mind being her mostly silent partner. She knew what she was looking for, or at least he hoped so, so he would let her take the lead. He would be more of her shadow, someone to guard her if there was any trouble or to offer his own opinion or advice should she need it. He knew not all shop owners were very open or honest with customers, even other witches. And especially witches accompanied by a vampire. He wondered if his very presence would hinder her investigation. But he felt he needed to help. He couldn't just sit at home and worry.

She seemed uncomfortable when she mentioned finding a fairy and he raised a brow in puzzlement. "Bad experience?" He asked softly, not wanting to push if she didn't want to talk about it. She admitted she wasn't good with curses and he tilted his head some to listen. She said that she used to sell potions to the Were's in the West side to help them with their fights. The thought made him smirk. "Nothing wrong with a little advantage, especially since I hear they're not allowed to use powers. You must have been busy." He didn't judge her for what she did, sure that she had her reasons. She grinned, seemingly proud of her work there, though he was sure it was more about the relations made more than the money. He raised a brow. "Do you still talk to any of the Were's at the Ark? Maybe some of them would know something." He figured he could offer all possible options.
