East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The world beyond fades, methodically coalescing into a diluted watercolor canvas, clarity clinging only to herself, Damon, Chaz, and the taste of blood as it skates a smooth path down her gullet. Never in her human life would Isolt have ever believed she might have yearned for the taste of blood, and yet truly she could have never rightly comprehended that in death it would slough off the stigma of its rancid, metallic tang. No longer was there the greasy sting of metal; no, the crimson fluid dancing its sensuous waltz against her tongue was smoother than the finest whiskey, more luxurious than even the most aged wine. So absolute was the satisfaction of this unique bouquet that it eclipsed near entirely the practiced and mighty restraint to which Isolt had always seemed able to cling. She knows, in the farthest and most desolate reaches of her subconscious, that what she does will surely bring him irrevocable harm... and yet no sooner might she prove herself able to coax stars from the sky than her fangs from his flesh.

Even as Damon's presence surrounds her, the rough tips of his fingers gingerly coaxing the veil of auburn locks from her face, Isolt clenches her eyes shut ever tighter to shield her from his influence, magical or otherwise. But she is helpless in this, a deeper, truer part of her being dictating that she can neither disregard his presence nor can she ignore his words; and so a pair of dazzling blue eyes, brighter now than they had ever been, rise to meet the mystique of those twin grey pools. The delicate slate of her brow furrows, a look of utter pleading desperation sweeping its sorrowful glow across her features. Months of uncertainty, of never knowing when and from where her next meal would come complicate the would-be simplicity of drawing back. Isolt has been proffered a taste of what could be, a small and teasing glance beyond the miasmic fog within which she has become lost.

Trust me.

It is an uncertain thing whether it is these words or the gentle pulling of Chaz's body away from her that finally sees Isolt extract her fangs from his tender flesh. The firm and comforting pressure of Damon's arm as it wraps around her has quite the unexpected effect upon the wayward redhead, the entirety of her lithe frame relaxing against the masculine solidity of his own. Tentatively, a single delicate hand curls into the fabric of his shirt, dabbing away the small traces of blood that had pooled at the edges of her ruby lips. The young vampire peers about nervously as Chaz struggles temporarily to right himself, liberating his finely-muscled form from Damon's supportive grasp before swaying uneasily into the darkness beyond.

Steadily the crystalline blue of Isolt's eyes rise to those of her counterpart, a dazzling and wholesome smile tugging beautifully at her lips. "Thank you," she whispers into the scant space which separates them before peering about at the haphazardly squirming bodies that surround the pair of undead. "Let's get out of here," she lilts, drawing her body away from his and venturing beyond the mulling mass to the door that stands unabashedly ajar and out into the early morning's comforting breeze. Dawn hints not so far beyond the still-dark horizon, a troubling notion given to where she is to return. In truth, she would have longed for nothing more than to linger in Damon's presence, to abandon the constant mental and physical anguish that is her confinement at Syn... and yet there is nowhere else for her. Shrugging this sobering though as much as she was capable, Isolt turns to him then, nodding towards the house from whence they had appeared. "Do you think he'll be alright?"
