East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

fading into oblivion

kissing death and loosing my breath
Serafina had never been one to mince her words, choosing a more blunt outlook rather then hiding behind any facade lest she upset the precious ego of her companions. This moment was no different. She had been able to see the change in the man near instantly, the way his entire figure had somehow tightened as if, heaven forbid, the woman had actually been correct about anything. The man's hiss had only brought the smallest of shrugs to Serafina's shoulders, as if she was unperturbed by this news that the vampire had wanted her blood just as much as his. After all, she was still in one piece. A part of her felt smug when he finally did dare admit that she had indeed been correct in doubting the vampire's death beneath the crumbling building. "You never know who will wonder in." She replied, hardly bothered by the sharpness in her voice and his exceedingly obvious effort to almost get back at her for pointing out his first failure. Pointedly she had turned her back to him, gathering the things she'd needed and allowing him the opportunity to get his attitude together.

It had taken some precious balancing at one point or another to grab all the necessary items arrange them neatly where they belonged upon her desk. She was oblivious to the weight of his gaze upon her as she moved, her attention far too intent at the task at hand and the work that was in front of her. In fact, it wasn't until the girl had turned to face her charge that she realized he had been watching her. It was enough to cause her pale cheeks to turn a slight hue of pink, one that hardly affected the authoritative tone within her voice. Her eyebrow rose as her demand was met for an inquiry for some general healing potion, one that saw the girl shake her head exasperatedly. "For the healing you need, it's better to just let me see." She spoke again, her voice softening as if she was attempting to coax a child that it really was going to be okay.

Serafina watched his sluggish movements as he slipped out of his sweater, her eyebrows furrowing at the cursing that left his lips. Her grey tinged gaze slipped over his figure, her lips twisting into a frown. She let him settle on her bench, her soprano voice soft and sweet, "Hush." Her fingers reached out, gingerly brushing against the man's flesh as she contemplated what would be necessary to get him back to the state he was in just the day prior. Her touch was light as a feather on his skin, her fingertips brushing across the bruising on his arms and chest, intently speculating the tint of color on his skin. It was much worse then she originally thought and for a brief moment Serafina almost felt pity for him.

She turned away from him, taking the lids off the tops of her jars before picking out a leaf here and there with precision. She let her first combination of spices steep in boiling water in a cup in front of him, before picking out another bunch to place within her mortar, letting the ceramic pestle smash their fragile leaves to release their fragrant smell. "The tea will help with the pain and heal your internal wounds. It won't be instant so I'll make some for you to bring home, okay?" She inquired, glancing back at him. "And this...will help with your bruises...ready?" Serafina wanted to make certain he was prepared. Despite her best efforts, she knew this was probably going to hurt.
