East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i'm not ashamed of my scars, i'm ashamed of the world for not understanding.

It wasn't noticeable at first. His absences were rare and the reason behind them understandable. Jackal had mentioned he was out handling business or taking care of personal matters. Although those absences were getting longer and she was worried that Jackal wasn't telling the truth. There was a time when no one was permitted to enter his room. Even when she tried to coax her mate to let her in he would not budge. It was troubling and deeply concerning. There were times when it was okay to keep things quiet and to themselves, but sometimes all that burden could be far too much. Whatever was going on he needed to know he didn't have to do it alone. Just because he was an Alpha didn't mean he couldn't ask for help from others. It wasn't a sign of weakness to ask for help. He would probably not see it that way. Most people don't, not when they feel like they have the entire weight of the world crushing on them. Heavy is the head that wears the crown as they say, but how long will he continue to wear it? What if one day when he disappeared again he would never come back? She had already seen what would happen in the aftermath. Whatever was going on, she didn't want the result to be Tetradore being gone, permanently. Quietly, she nodded in agreement to his statement, but with a heavy sigh she responded back sympathetically.

"Yes, I know, but I don't want to wake up one day and feel that you're gone, like when you died, or when Regan left. I'm asking if you need a break or some help Tetradore, because I don't want to go through that again."

Tetradore wasn't there when they felt that immense pain and loss when he died. When his presence wasn't felt anymore it was as if the sunlight got a little bit dimmer, and one would think that was a bit dramatic, but it was true. Words couldn't describe what they felt when they figured out why that cord between them snapped. When he began disappearing her worry for him only grew. The goal for today wasn't just to file their taxes. The hidden agenda for today was to try to offer him any sort of help he needed, and hopefully succeed in gaining some of his trust, because lately she hadn't been feeling like she had his trust in the first place. Reaching her hand to touch his own was her attempt to try to break down a barrier, her own barrier with him. She was improving in her own way and her own pace when it came to making that touchy, feeling connections. Raven was far more willing to bump her shoulder into another in a reassuring way, tug or nip at their ear or tail in a playful manner, and even curl up against another to sleep. She could do all this and more with the other members of her pack, but with Tetradore she kept that distance between them not as close as she did with others. It wasn't his fault. She was trying to break that with him as best as she could, but she couldn't do that alone.

Frowning some she shook her head regretting her comment about how they weren't blood. This wasn't going at all what she expected. Raven didn't think her plan was going to be successful, but she did thought she would gain some sort of leeway. Staying quiet she returned to eating her cupcake accepting defeat. Maybe she could try again, if it wasn't too late. Speaking of blood, she mentioned to Tetradore that she and her husband would try to have a child of their own. The idea of having a family wasn't something she dreamed of having, but she liked the dream. It was going to happen anyways whether she liked it or not, and how could she not like it? Tetradore needed to be aware that they were going to try for a kid. He was their Alpha and all. Some packs allowed other members in their pack to have a family of their own and some didn't at all. Raven doubted that Tetradore would say they couldn't, it didn't seem like him, but she at least wanted him to know, because she respected his position. His good wishes and compliment was answered with a small smile and a polite nod. His best wishes reminded her of another man surprising her with news that she would indeed be a Mother.

"My friend Dorian, his Father mentioned we would be pretty good parents, and that our child would be special, but I think that's just a polite thing to say. Faes are mischievous creatures."

Raven had no idea that Tetradore was aware of Dorian and Matteo. Matteo was very...odd. After the second night of Tobias and Tetradore being gone, Matteo popped into her kitchen, explaining to her that she was doing a very good job of worrying, because it would be good practice when she had her own children. His words still confused her. Raven was sure that he was just being nice and trying to soothe her nerves. When his gaze shifted from her to the window she shook her head dejectedly. It was silly of her to think he would let her in and try to help with whatever he was dealing with. Quickly she ate the rest of her cupcake and drank the rest of her tea. Getting up from the table she stuffed her hands in her pockets and followed him out of the café. Heading over towards his car she brought something else up for him that Tobias spoke to her about.

"Tobias mentioned we ought to try to have a house outside the city. Although we'd live in the Ark with everyone, the house would be like a weekend getaway, or a week to unwind with our kid. The house could accommodate the pack if they needed to a break from the city too. The South is getting a bit too small for us to run around without falling into a trap set by Dark Hunters. This doesn't mean we aren't leaving you or our pack, you can't get rid of us that easily."

With a grin she gently nudged her elbow into his rib in a joking gesture, another attempt on her part to break that touch barrier again. Opening up the car door she slid in, this time not letting her car door window down. After putting on her seatbelt, she turned to look at him. You had to be blind without seeing those dark circles under his eyes. Softly she muttered a suggestion that Tetradore could probably enjoy without her butting into his personal life.

"If we hurry home you can try to get some sleep, I'll make sure Tobias doesn't bother you."
