East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

A rare, warm simper fluttered across Alexander's features as he led his girlfriend into the stables. He was well aware of the anxiety that filled her at the very idea of those horses he was so accustomed to. Her thoughts, after all, all but invaded his very mind, as much as he tried to simply filter them out as if they were mere background noise. Even so, Alexis seemed to linger closer towards him, as if fearing those horses would somehow lash out at her when most merely eyed them with some level of curiosity. He tried to keep his own bemusement from his features as his oceanic eyes turned towards the horses themselves. He watched each one they passed intently, searching for some indication that they would be the best for the skittish Alexis. It hardly took long before the Macedonian stopped abruptly, choosing a Chesnut mare for the young woman at his side. He reached gingerly out towards the horse, letting the mare bob his palm with her nose. Softly, he inquired if Alexis would like to touch the mare - that very inquiry seemed to prompt uncertainty within the woman before, slowly, she nodded.

He watched in silence as Alexis let the horse sniff her, the mare clearly well socialized, both strangers hardly perturbing her in the slightest. Alexander's soft inquiry on if Alexis would like to ride together, however, prompted a clear scowl upon her features before she shook her head, the woman focusing upon petting the mare in front of her. Alexis' smile at least gave him a small hint of relief, Alexander's head bobbing simply. "Of course." He responded, turning towards the wall where each horse's tact was hung and positioned with care. Effortlessly, he pulled down the bridle and saddle beneath the mare's name, the Monarch moving swiftly as he saw to the mare's saddle. His fingers moved deftly, this action one Alexander had performed thousands of times before, the man moving more by habit than anything else. It hardly took long before Alexander presented Alexis with a fully saddled and ready mare. "Put your foot here...and your hands here....and you should be able to swing up and on her back. She won't move....do you need help?" Alexander inquired, attempting to balance providing her with some level of instruction while also giving Alexis the freedom to try herself, if only for the knowledge of the confidence it would surely give her to discover she was more than capable of this and so much more.
