East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

BABY, DROP THEM BONES
SELL THAT SOUL

There would soon come a day when she would no longer have to grapple with this gutter-grade courier bullshit... when the role of the goddamn Amazon Prime delivery person would be played by someone else- someone woefully bereft Askaree's particular brands of customer service and showmanship, but still...

As the dark-haired Egyptian woman flicks a pair of sunglasses onto the impeccable slope of her nose, sauntering onward with every bit of the poise and purpose that one might have expected of an individual who had just succeeded in derailing what had been an admittedly ill-fated attempt at a heist, the heels of her boots scrape to a leisurely halt upon the fissured concrete of the sidewalk with the exclamation offered up by someone in her stead. She turns and a markedly reptilian simper teases at the brims of her voluptuous, crimson lips. Ah, so Mr. Optimism took her advice and made the decision to turn tail before the authorities arrived and compounded the disaster already unfolding in that little shop of horrors? And, what's more, he was expressing gratitude? To a woman? What a peculiar thing for a man to do.

A small chuckle erupts from within her as something even more amusing trickles from his mouth. A neat trick? Who was she, David fucking Blaine? Siegfried and that other guy? Was he legitimately oblivious to the ethereal undercurrent that slithered about in the tenebrific darkness of every last cobblestoned corner of the city? Surely, he felt it. Surely did it constrict his fleshy carapace into gooseflesh in those seemingly random moments when one of them wandered near to him. Perhaps he just had yet to realize that the reason that the hairs upon the nape of his neck pulled to attention in those seemingly random moments was because of them. Because of her.

How adorable.

"What can I say, I aim to amaze," she coos, the reptilian leer pulling at her features made, perhaps, exponentially more unnerving given the concealment of her eyes. "If you really want to thank me, though, you could buy me a drink. Nothing makes a girl thirsty quite like foiling a heist."

This was going to be so damn fun.
