East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

I wanna get stupid, I wanna get dumb

Truthfully, the ringtail was probably closer to looking like a sandy, skinny raccoon but Harper wasn't going to spoil the fun that quickly. She was still damned cute as her furry self, even if she wasn't completely comfortable in that skin. "Oh really? That sounds like it could give me a run for my money. It wouldn't win, but could give a try." She teased with a wink, enjoying this light conversation. Definitely better than the conversation she thought she would have had to have that would be along the lines of "What that your car? Oh dear, my mistake!" or something equally stupid before she was sprinting like hell. No, this was definitely best case scenario.

Harper's attention snapped fully to Malia when she mentioned being adopted, eyebrow quirking slightly. She listened intently, trying to keep buried a pang of jealousy. Adopted! She had been adopted! That was nothing she could claim, having bounced from home to home like a much unwanted nuisance. Not that she had made things easier on herself with the constant running and fighting. "Man, that sucks... Sorry to hear about your folks." She frowned slightly as Malia continued about her story, biting her lip briefly. That was a pretty awful way to discover you could turn, wasn't it? "You know, I didn't really have anyone to show me either. I actually figured it out while I was running from - " Hold it, Harper, maybe don't share that you were running from cops - "this absolute douche of a person. Jumped a fence, tripped and suddenly I had four legs and a tail. Scared the crap out of me. Changed back when I fell in a pool and thought I was going to drown." She shrugged, leaving out that she actually had no idea how to swim. How did she avoid drowning then? Well, turns out four feet is a lot less terrifying when you're nearly six feet than when you're the size of a cat. Still, it wasn't something she had completely figured out - that transformation thing. It was an uncomfortable transformation when she did it. Maybe she could ferret out some way to get help for it, but she wasn't about to bring up now. That was a type of vulnerability she wasn't ready to expose yet.

"Hell yeah! MOOCHERS UNITE!" Harper practically yelled, arms thrust up in the arm as though they had won a great victory. Her laughter rang out, grin nearly splitting her face in half with the size of it. "Fear not, my dear girl. You are in the presence of a professional moocher. So come to me if you have any questions." She winked dramatically at Malia. Maybe some more responsible folks might be more ashamed of being considered a moocher but really it was a step up from "recreational thief" wasn't it? She thought so.

Harper chewed on the fry as Malia spoke, stretching her legs out under the table as she mulled over the listed options. "Usually I'd be all over that club scene but I feel like with the amount of food we just ate, I'll just make a mess and ass of myself." She chuckled, licking the remaining cheese off her fingers. She launched herself forward suddenly, elbows banging on the tabletop as she leaned further across the tabletop. "Oh man! I haven't been to an arcade in forever! Let's go there!" Now that they had a destination, it was a matter of getting there. When Malia commented about the cars, Harper stared at her, eyebrows nearly lifting off her face. She... she saw her go through three cars... and just... Oh wow. She bit her bottom lip, hard, trying to fight back the grin that wanted to split her face and the laugh threatening to burst out. Oh wow. This poor girl really hadn't been kidding when she mentioned she was new to this world.

"Malia, my beautiful, sweet, innocent summer darling, you are too pure for this world. I feel like I should like... remove my corrupted self from you for your own good." She laughed, unable to fully hold herself back. She hopped out of the seat, tossing a few crumpled bills on the table. "But I'm selfish and I'm keeping you. Come, to the arcade so I can show you how to kick zombie butt!"
