East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Serafina reached up to tuck those wayward locks strewn by the ravenous wind behind her ear and deep into the dark folds of her hood. She darted under the sleek, black overhang of the quaint little cafe, wiping the slick underside of her chunky heels on the welcome mat. The melodic ding ding ding of a pumpkin shaped bell tied loosely to the front door accompanied her entrance into the warmth of the Inner Sanctum. The witch's stormy gaze scanned the scarcely populated room, easily locating the familiar face nestled in the darkened corner of the room, the assassin specifically positioned to allow him a full, unhindered view of the cafe and the very door she stood in front of. She strode confidently towards him, weaving in and out between the tables before the young woman pulled out the seat across from him, her purse dangling from the back of the seat before she settled down in it herself. Serafina provided her companion with a brief glance over, only to comment on the results of her observations. A warm simper brushed across his features as he insisted he was doing well, even if he was missing the miscellaneous work she had provided him in the past.

A small smile fluttered across her sweet heart lips as Serafina's shoulder lifted in a vague shrug. "Every commission is always different." She answered in easy agreement. The witch's attention hardly lingered upon her companion long, that need for a warm beverage redirecting her focus as she inquired if he had already ordered. The very notion that he had waited for her out of some idea of politeness caused her brow to rise skeptically. She hadn't exactly known the man across from her to fret over such social mannerisms. As if on cue, he leaned forward and against the table and slowly, Serafina shook her head. "If you insist." Her head tilted to the side, her stormy gaze settling upon him as she listened to him speak of how well he'd settled into the city, even if it was a significant contrast from the country of his birth. Serafina wasn't certain she shared the same love of the skyscrapers, seedy alleyways, and conservative townhouses. After spending the entirety of her life within the city limits, she had begun to find the repetition of each day in the city particularly monotonous.

Her wrist moved with an easy flick, the witch brushing off his appreciation for her presence. "I needed a break anyway." She admitted with a soft sigh. Serafina was hardly prepared for his sudden inquiry on if she required his assistance. A glimpse of bafflement crossed her fair features. After all he was the one who had invited her out in the first place. "You know I don't deal with your type of work." She pointed out - assassinations hardly part of Serafina's direct purview. A small frown crossed her features as the girl mentally went through her list of current...'projects'. "I suppose there is something you could acquire for me, if you really are looking for something to occupy that time. I take it work is slow right now?" Serafina inquired with an arched brow. It must be if he was coming to her, unbidden, in search of something to do. The topic, however, was one Gideon seemed to brush off, briefly, as he beckoned a barista towards them. "A pumpkin spiced latte, if you please." She answered, giving the man a deceptively sweet simper.
