East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Despite the Asian girl's insistence that her companion hardly needed to fret over feeding her, Oliver seemed nothing short of insistent. He even seemed inclined to prompt some level of guilt within the Asian woman in some effort to achieve his means. How she should have anticipated such a move from a ruthless businessman! A weak simper crossed her features, Chizue willing to admit some sort of defeat in this when he had already made arrangements, even if it meant enduring his own hunger pains for some additional time. Her chocolate irises drifted from the man beside him, letting him steal several bites of his Irish dinner as she watched a gaggle of teenagers at the mall's entrance. They, unfortunately, seemed to notice her as much as she watched them, their hushed whispers amongst each other, not-so-subtle pointing, and equally as "covert" attempts to snap pictures on their cellphones told her well of who they were, even if it had been some time since Chizue had entertained fans. After all, she'd left the limelight of the pop music scene and overseas, the industry was both aggressive and ever changing. A new generation of music had already replaced the girl band she'd once belonged to, and now, even they were struggling to hold their place at the top of the charts without dissolving like so many before them had.

For a moment, Chizue watched the small group, only to lean towards the man beside her and claim, in an egregious but playful lie, that they were surely here for him, as Sacrosanct's most wanted bachelor. How she enjoyed watching him freeze in place! That usual confident demeanor almost failed him, for once, as he eyed the group of young teens. His features twisted into a firm frown even as he closed the box of food he had been indulging in to place it beside him. If only she had been prepared for his retort, his smooth words caused that pink hue to again flush across her cheeks as she insisted that they would surely hate her for stealing away all of his attention, even if he was certain she'd yet to give them a real reason. Oh, how she was sure she could change that! That is, if the basis of her ploy had any sort of authenticity to it. In reality, any move she made upon him was likely to be met with girlish squeals, snapping of pictures and the resurrection of her existence in the asian tabloids. Her thoughts were pulled from the possible future by the smooth sound of his baritone voice, his words coaxing a warm simper upon her features, one that was followed by an easy laugh at his promise to protect her - if only he knew what he was committing himself to!

It was with a small beckon of her wrist that the girl gestured the small group closer towards them. For a moment, the teens seemed to glance between each other, as if verifying amongst themselves that she was, indeed, acknowledging their existence. It hardly took long before the giddy group shuffled over towards them, only to inquire after autographs and pictures that Chizue was more than willing to supply. Her signature was scrawled in flowy characters across various school supplies and the occasional surprising merchandise as she happily chatted with the fans, even answering their questions of what she intended to do now with some obscure declaration that perhaps she might try to do her own clothing or makeup line - such was the done thing, these days. How easily she enthralled the group, only to part ways with them with a small, assured wave. It was with a giggle on her lips that Chizue returned her attention to the man beside her, the girl purposefully avoiding any sort of explanation in the slightest. The baffled look upon his face was surely worth it all. Oliver, in fact, seemed to require a moment to compose himself again before he offered some vague word of praise, only to offer the very question she knew was coming.

Who was she?

The answer, admittedly, hit her harder than she expected it would. Chizue's shoulders lifted in a vague shrug as her chocolate eyes turned away from him. "No one, really. Not anymore." She answered with a small shrug of her shoulders, only to rise to her feet. "I'm guessing it will be a bit before your food arrives...do you want to take a look around? We could go window shopping." She offered, quick to attempt to change the topic away from herself and her past.
