East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

Today, just as all days but a scant few lately, Felicity was hungry.

It wasn't really hard to find food. Even now, she wasn't starving per say, but it felt as though she hadn't had more than a few bites in her stomach at any one time since she had left her first home at sixteen. She was even starting to get used to the feeling, though she didn't like it any more than she had her first full week without a meal, four years ago. She missed the discomfort of an over-full stomach, the struggle to hold the food down as her belly was shocked by its sudden burden after a long time without. Remembering the meal Raven had provided for her only made her stomach cramp even worse, and she pouted as she drifted along the sidewalk.

As she walked without apparent destination, Felicity debated with herself. She had some money, but she was loathe to part with it when hunting was free and far more exciting. Still, the outskirts were hardly within walking distance and she hadn't yet gotten a meal out of Frost. That made her last meal the one she had enjoyed in the Arc, and the most enjoyable meal of her life; or so her ragged memories told her. She had spent so much time in the body of a wild animal that her mind had largely parted with the soft memories of her two-legged life. Returning to civilization had proved frustrating but easy enough overall, but to her human brain now, her life before Sacrosanct held little more than running and hunting on four legs.

Scavenging in the human world was one of the first things to return to her as Felicity shifted back from the life of an animal. She wasn't a huge fan of the handful of methods she used to feed herself, but they got the job done and she was still better fed than she had been before she arrived in the city. She always sought alternatives to stealing. If you got caught plucking someone's wallet out of their back pocket, it brought a lot of unwelcome attention. She avoided that risk today by navigating to Frost's house to see if he was home and willing to give her some food.

Finding his place was easy enough, but the building was dark and quiet and the horse boy's scent was stale. Felicity growled at it and turned back the way she came, deciding against forcing entry. Their relationship seemed promising to her, and she didn't want to fuck it up by breaking into his house. If anything was going to keep him from feeding her, several hundred dollars in damage costs (which Felicity herself could not pay, of course) was probably at the top of the list, and she didn't know how to pick a lock.

It looked like she was going to have to pay for her food. The coffee shop she had summoned Frost to for their latest meeting was the only place she could think of that wouldn't charge a fortune, and it was only a block or so away. She got their quickly enough after considering lighting up but deciding not to waste half a cigarette when it would undoubtedly make her nauseous anyway.

It was warm inside. Felicity bought a peanut butter cookie for a few bucks and turned to find that her corner seat from last time was taken. She frowned; she didn't care that much, but something about the woman sitting there made her hackles rise. It looked like she had gotten here only a few minutes before Felicity had. Coatless, the hair on her arms was still raised, her cheeks still a little wind-bitten. Felicity moved to the table next to hers, a window over. A decent seat, but the corners were always best.

"Do you want my hoodie?" she blurted. She hadn't really meant to say anything, but as Felicity did not get cold, the hoodie was useless to her anyway. She only really wore it so people would stop asking if she were cold or if she wanted their hoodies.
