East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

The stars in their orbits

Nadya became more visibly nervous the moment they entered the exam room. She took her time to sit up on the table and situate herself, eyeing the equipment cautiously before looking back at the nurse. The exchange between the nurse and Raven left Nadya feeling very inadequate with the look the nurse gave it. It wasn't judgemental or rude but...sympathetic. Still, Nadya didn't like that look since she was little, all the other adults knowing that secret of her being adopted besides her and looking at her that way. "I was taking precautions to prevent this...so I didn't know I was pregnant." She felt the need to get the record straight, this may be unplanned but she had tried to be an adult and prevent it on her side.

The nurse simply nodded and smiled softly, "Ok, well why don't we take a look? Go ahead and sit back and unbutton your pants and lift your shirt a bit." Nadya paused before doing as she directed, glancing over at Raven in suspicion about what was going on. The nurse pulled the machine over and got started rolling the probe along the swell of her abdomen. The thrumming and humming of the machine kicked to life as the nurse zoned in on the baby within. "Alright, there we go." She rotated the screen a bit so both Raven and Nadya could see too. The thrumming had turned to muffled thumps of a heart...hearts. On the screen were two grey shapes twitching and moving slightly. "Looks like you have twins. They're a bit small but developmentally it looks like you're late into your fourth month." The nurse looked to the two women. Nadya simply stared in dumbfounded shock at the screen. It was a little hard to make out the shapes of the babies but the fact that there wasn't just one but two that she was going to have made her feel like she was going to be sick. The nurse froze the screen where it was so both young were in the picture. "Would you ..like a picture?"

Nadya quickly sat up, pushing her shirt down and adjusting her pants back in place. "I can't." She muttered. Full on panic started to set in. One baby she had been preparing herself for but now twins. It scared the living daylights out of her not feeling like she could do it. Nadya looked back to Raven ignoring the nurse's surprised look, "I can't. I want to go, open the door and let me out."
