East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

My Own Form Of CHAOS

I could watch her look around my house forever, the look of utter fascination on her features a thing more breath taking than anything I could ever imagine. I'm not upset at all that she didn't reply to my words in the car, my first admission of the true feelings I find myself falling deeper and deeper into the more time I spend with her. I don't want to push for too much too fast or make her feel forced into something she doesn't feel the same about. For all the secrets she affords me, she doesn't talk a lot about her feelings. That's usually something a man would be grateful for since it's not one of my strong suits either but I'd die happily just to know what she's thinking every time she looks into my eyes a little longer than necessary. She has no idea how much of a mystery she is to me, how frustrating and damn well pleasing it is just to earn every little smile or simper that tugs at her precious lips.

If she doesn't have the words right now, that's okay. I'm a patient man and I don't mind waiting. For her, I would wait forever, just to spend every last second at her side. Besides, I still have so many doubts about myself. I've never been relationship material. I fear commitment more than anything else I know. I would never forgive myself if I hurt her so why should I push for something serious when it could just be another step toward losing her forever? It's not like I deserve someone as good natured as her to be mine. She could have anyone and there are probably much better suitors in this city, let alone the world. Why should she choose me over any of them? They're probably less fucked up than I am. They probably have a lot less baggage and more happiness to give her than I ever could.

She lets me know that she has nothing for the roof and I offer a good natured smirk in answer. I shrug at her comment about the beauty of my house. I've never looked at it as anything more than just enough.

"It could alwause use a woman's touch."

I answer back playfully with a twinkle in my eyes. She continues to look around, only distracted when the tree men turn to leave. When they call her by my last name, I can't hide the humorous smirk that touches my lips, especially when I see the aghast look on her face. She stutters as she tries to correct them but ends up letting it go and I cross my arms in amusement, tilting my head as she turns her gaze to me.

"Maybe for you. The look on your face made it all worth it."

I answer back teasingly. As she moves to the bags she brought in, I move on her heels, stopping beside her to let her organize the materials we will soon be placing all around my abode. I listen carefully as she goes over how she wants to do things, leaning against a door frame as I tilt my head to the side to let it rest against the frame, glittering gray eyes watching the intense focus on her face as she talks it all out aloud. I grin in answer to her question.

"I'm sure we can get it done in good time."

I think about how easy it is for me to clean the house when it comes to super speed. I'm sure it takes maids three times the length of time to clean a house this large but for me, maybe five minutes, tops. As she pulls out the wreath, I look it over with an impassive expression, reminding myself that I let myself be dragged into this. She seems to be trying ehr hardest to read me too as she hands it over to me and I take it with a gentle hand, offering her another crooked smirk.

"Are you afraid I'm going to go burn it in the backyard or something? Relax. I got this."
