East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Alexander's attention was steadfast upon the beverage he was in the process of making until a soft voice called out to him, drawing his sea-tinged gaze towards her. He noted the pink hue present upon the girl's cheeks, her nose scrunched in a visible display of distaste as she questioned after her wardrobe. His head shook ever so slightly though Alexander remembered a time when the outfit in question was largely popular in France. After all, for him it hadn't been terribly long ago. Now it was nothing more then a fetish costume. "Of course not, you could wear whatever you like." He responded with a small shrug. Despite Alexander's insistence that she was welcome to whatever she felt comfortable within, those more basal thoughts (one's he had ignored for several decades) couldn't help but to fill his brain with the exact same image that made her tremble. It was a fantasy he enjoyed perhaps more then he should, though he hardly made any physical show of where his thoughts lingered, instead offering her the insistence that she she take up his offer - he would ensure her safety. It was a promise he had every intention of fulfilling. After all, the Inner Sanctum was intended to be exactly that â€" a sanctuary for all regardless of race or species. It was a reflection of how tired he was of his red tainted world.

Momentarily his gaze shifted towards the woman at his side as she insisted that her gracefulness was surprisingly lacking. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly though Alexander failed to respond in any meaningful way. He had a difficult time believing that such a lovely girl would be so blundering as to not make her way with ease around his cafe. After all, Alexander had grown up within a world were grace was one of the few things his women were taught. They were full of poise, seductive, and manipulative - especially those that he had taken to his bed when his veins were still full with a mortal life. It had taken nearly a century and a half for such thought processes to change and even now, the ancient Dark Hunter still found himself surprised how some facets of the world had been dropped within the last few hundred years. Never the less, Alexander was content to let the conversation shift towards the plant that produced the milky substance they were only moments away from consuming. The man's attentive gaze caught the fashion at which her features seemed to lighten at the prospect of seeing the delicious plant that she was so enthusiastically enjoying.

It was perhaps this which made him all the more curious to see her reaction to the beverage he had so meticulously crafted for her. His blue-green gaze settled on her as he poured the liquid into the mug, watching the steaming chocolate swirl within her cup before the man settled across from her with cup in hand to blow softly on the hot beverage. He was surprised to see her lift the beverage so quickly to her lips, his eyebrows furrowing at her exclamation. He had assumed she would know the drink was hot, having seen the pan thrust within the fire only moments prior. He nodded ever so slightly, "You have to blow on it." He added in a soft tone, doing so to his own as if to show her exactly what to do. The whole situation was enough to cause him to contemplate the age gap between them - something that he rarely saw fit to do if only because it tended to make the Dark Hunter uncomfortable. "It will stop hurting in a little...I can get you something cold if you want?" He offered, making every effort to be a gracious host.
