East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

kissing death and loosing my breath
It might have been surprising to note that the young witch was largely coping quite well with the events of that fateful night. Though the ghastly, dismembered specters at the time had surely terrified the wits of the female, she was largely no different then the sardonic, pessimistic creature that she had been before. It was true that she slept less, her dreams often contorting to dark nightmares where those beheaded and mutilated phantoms had turned tangible enough to do more then taunt her with their antagonizing words. It was true that she oft woke up with her sheets soaked in sweat only to stare into the indifferent gaze of the apparition that she was unable to send from her presence. He was always nearby now. Sometimes he was out of reach, sometimes he indulged in antagonizing her when customers walked into her store, knowing all too well that she dare not reply lest she appear any more crazy then she surely already was. And yet, despite her insistence that she was largely okay, Serafina had yet to seek out the man that she had once taken such a great interest in. Lately, she had confined herself to the isolation of her well kept townhouse. She hadn't seen the Dark Hunter that had piqued her interest in six months, much less the lupine that she was bound to. It had been nothing but silence and the ghost that trailed behind her like a malignant lost child.

And yet, despite the girl's self imposed quarantine, even she too needed a break from the ramblings of her bitter companion. She entirely anticipated having a booth to herself, bringing enough of whatever alcoholic beverage could leave her too far gone to hear his whispering within her ear. It was that want which led the young girl into the tavern she found herself in front of. Part of her was intrigued by the new establishment. After all, she had spent most of her life on these streets - she knew many of the facilities that haunted her parts of the street. Too many businesses fell and rose within their first year for Serafina to ignore the new ones entirely. After all, how many would close it's doors before she had the chance to taste the possible delights within her reach. It was silly really, such a way of thinking but she had been taught to indulge and enjoy within the things she had now. She knew all too well how to live in the moment - because sometimes hoping for the future was far too painful.

Never the less, Serafina pushed her way trough the open doors, pausing at the hostess stand just long enough to wave the girl off. She was happy enough at the bar, settled by herself on a stool with a cold beverage within her hand. Serafina was so dead set upon her idealized evening that she hardly noticed the familiar face only a few stools down. Instead, the girl was leaned slightly against the bar with a mixed beverage in her hand - the taste of vodka on her lips and nothing but her own thoughts and the invisible companion at her side to keep her company. It was quite the fitting way for the pretty young witch to end a very long day of keeping her dingy little shop.
