East

The east side of the city is the very heart of Sacrosanct - it's unique skyline is a clash between modern sky rises and small Victorian-inspired storefronts. In the heart of downtown, the sleek colored glass buildings reign supreme though their old-world roots can be seen in the most peculiar places from the lamp post styled electric street light to the stone sidewalks. The old world architecture slowly returns the further from downtown you travel, however. It's here that magic thrives, it hums in every stone and can be felt in every breath. Often, newcomers to the city may become overwhelmed by such sensations but, eventually, it becomes an ever-present feeling that's hardly noticed.

i used to feel the fear in the enemies eyes

i used to rule the world

seas would rise when i gave the word

Mornings within the cafe always begun exceptionally early. The citizens of the city, mortal and otherwise, found it difficult to live without their daily supply of caffeine. It was both a blessing and a curse in it's own way. On one hand, the cafe was booming with business, finally beginning to turn over an actual profit - though such was hardly necessary for the Dark Hunter as it was. His wealth was seemingly inexhaustible, even if the man hardly lived as such. Instead, Alexander awoke to the same dark small flat that he always did, his hand rising to rest over his eyes as the grandfather clock in the corner loudly cried the time. Despite the yawn on his lips, Alexander was still entirely used to such hours ungodly hours. He had always risen with the sun, regardless of the invention of electricity. For centuries he sun had dictated so much of life and even now the stubborn man found it difficult to sway habits that had been ingrained in him for so infinitely long. It took him a moment or too longer before he actually dragged himself out of bed, showered, and dressed and even longer still before the man was actually downstairs.

He flicked on the lights as he moved through out the cafe, the place slowly beginning to glow with a certain warmth as the machines began to whirl with life. The man stood with his arms crossed over his chest as the water began to heat up, brewing the first cup of the day - for himself, naturally. He glanced over, his nose twitching ever so slightly only to find with a sigh that his evening barista had failed to take the trash out - the bin overflowing with used coffee grounds and empty milk cartons. He'd thought that he'd had a conversation with her about the importance of keeping the bin clean. Though she was having a hard enough time as it was grasping even the basic concepts of customer service. Not that Alexander was particularly great on that front to begin with. It was the exact reason why the Macedonian King hired others to do the job for him. Regretfully, the man left his freshly made coffee on the counter, wrestling the bag out of the trash can only to make his way through the small empty kitchen and into the alleyway just outside of his business where the shared dumpster was.

He stepped out of the side door to the business, pausing when his supernatural instincts screamed at him that there was another so close within his vicinity. His blue-green gaze brushed over every facet of the stoney alley before falling unexpectedly upon the sleeping figure in the corner. Slowly he made his way towards her, pausing only to toss the bag of garbage into the dumpster before standing silently over her. His eyebrows furrowed ever so slightly, the male taking quick stock of the girl and her state before gingerly reaching out with his boot to nudge at the bottom of her shoe. The girl, he decided, was ether entirely daft to be sleeping out in an alley way exposed, or had far more skill then he was able to initially detect. It made him cautious, though not overly so, just enough to pick his battle with care.
